Dual motor AWD produces 225 kW (306 PS) and 480 Nm, with 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.
An 81.4 kWh battery provides up to 476 km WLTP range, with a 30 minute 10 to 80 percent DC charge.
The EV5 GT combines GT chassis technology with 566 litres of luggage space and Kia Pet Mode.
The 2027 Kia EV5 GT takes Kia’s expanding electric GT range into the larger C SUV class. Introduced for Europe alongside the EV3 GT and EV4 GT, it follows the same basic formula of dual motor all wheel drive, dedicated GT technology and model specific details, but places greater emphasis on cabin space and everyday versatility.
Kia describes the EV5 GT as the most versatile of the three newcomers. That positioning makes sense on paper. It is the largest of them and combines its extra performance with features aimed at family use and longer journeys.
Upright SUV Proportions Remain
At 4,610 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall, the EV5 GT retains the taller proportions of the standard SUV format. Its wheelbase measures 2,750 mm. The GT treatment does not fundamentally change that practical shape, instead relying on specific details to separate it visually.
Kia identifies its electric GT models with 20 inch GT alloy wheels, exterior emblems and neon green accents. Neon green brake calipers add another easily spotted detail, while the EV5 GT runs on 255/45 R20 tires.
GT Chassis Changes Go Beyond Appearance
The suspension receives increased spring rates and revised anti roll bars to reduce body movement. Preview Electronic Controlled Suspension uses a forward facing camera to analyse the road and alter damping within milliseconds, while steering response and gearing have also been revised.
Normal, Sport and GT modes progressively alter the damping and handling response. Electric Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control combines braking and motor intervention to help manage cornering, and Launch Control handles harder starts. Virtual Gear Shift simulates gear changes, while Active Sound Design responds to speed, acceleration and torque.
Cabin Keeps the EV5 GT Family Focused
Inside are GT exclusive semi bucket sports seats using suede and neon green accents. The seats have a relaxation comfort design, while the driver gets an Ergo Motion seat. A perforated leather GT steering wheel, sport pedals, black and neon trim and Harman Kardon audio complete the main cabin changes.
Practicality remains important. The EV5 GT provides 566 litres of luggage space, and Pet Mode can maintain a suitable cabin temperature when an animal is briefly left inside. It also locks the doors, disables interior switches and alarms, and displays an owner message on screen.
Dual Motors Deliver 306 PS
The EV5 GT uses a 155 kW front motor and 70 kW rear motor, producing a combined 225 kW (306 PS) and 480 Nm. Kia quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and a 180 km/h maximum speed.
Its 81.4 kWh battery provides up to 476 km of WLTP range. A 10 to 80 percent DC fast charge takes 30 minutes, while 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging are also supported. Pricing and detailed UK specifications will be announced later.
