The 2027 Jeep Wrangler Switchback is the 12th and final model in Jeep's Twelve 4 Twelve series, celebrating the brand's 85-year history with a distinctive approach to personalization.
Based on the Wrangler Rubicon X, it features interchangeable Black and Sting-Gray hoods and doors, Gecko accents and Jeep's first production brightly colored beadlock wheel rings.
Orders open in November 2026, with a $2,870 package priced at $66,695 for the two-door and $69,995 for the four-door, including destination charges.
Jeep Wrangler Switchback Completes the Twelve 4 Twelve Series
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler Switchback has been revealed as the final entry in Jeep's Twelve 4 Twelve series, closing a year of special editions celebrating the brand's 85th anniversary.
Based on the Wrangler Rubicon X, the Switchback takes a different direction from the heritage-inspired models that preceded it. Instead of revisiting a particular decade or historical Jeep, the latest edition plays with contrasting colors, interchangeable body panels and graphic treatments.
Jeep says the inspiration comes partly from contemporary gaming and digital culture, where mixing colors and components is part of personalizing a vehicle.
The Switchback will be offered in both two-door and four-door configurations.
Contrasting Hoods and Doors Create the Switchback Look
The most noticeable change is the deliberate mismatch between the body panels.
Gloss Black and Sting-Gray Wranglers receive contrasting dual-vented power dome hoods and doors, creating the appearance of two vehicles exchanging parts.
It is more than a graphic effect. Jeep sequences the differently colored vehicles together during production, switches their doors on the assembly line and exchanges their hoods at an upfitting center.
Gecko green provides the third color, appearing around the seven-slot grille, across the hood graphics and on the beadlock wheel rings.
Other exterior details include a contrasting three-piece hardtop, black Jeep and Trail Rated badges, black tow hooks and a Sting-Gray '41' body-side decal.
Gecko Beadlock Rings and Rubicon X Foundations
The Switchback retains the Wrangler Rubicon X as its mechanical foundation, with the familiar off-road-oriented body and modular construction.
Its beadlock wheel rings introduce a particularly noticeable detail. Jeep describes them as its first brightly colored production beadlock rings, finished in a specially developed Gecko shade.
The bright green accents contrast with the darker body panels rather than covering large sections of the vehicle.
Jeep has not announced separate suspension, engine or performance modifications for the Switchback package.
Nappa Leather Interior With Sea Salt Accents
Inside, the contrasting theme continues, although the colors are more restrained.
Global Black Nappa leather seats carry debossed Switchback logos, while Sea Salt Nappa leather covers the instrument panel surround, door armrests and center-console lid.
Jeep says this particular Sea Salt trim treatment is a first for the Wrangler.
Pearl and Lime stitching introduces smaller color accents throughout the cabin.
There are also dedicated cupholder and swing-gate plaques. The latter features technical drawings, mapping details and references to Detroit and Toledo.
A Willys satin chrome shifter medallion and unique ventilation graphics reference Jeep's earlier vehicles.
Pricing and November 2026 Order Opening
Orders for the 2027 Wrangler Switchback open in November 2026.
The appearance and interior package costs $2,870, with the two-door model priced at $66,695 and the four-door at $69,995, including the $1,995 destination charge.
As the final Twelve 4 Twelve release, the Switchback follows special editions including the Moab 392, Whitecap, Rockslide and JL-2A, ending the series with a focus on customization rather than another historical tribute.
