2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo Brings Back a Classic
Some names never really disappear. They simply wait for the right moment to return.
That's the case with the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo, which revives one of the brand's best-known badges after decades away. Introduced as the ninth model in Jeep's Twelve 4 Twelve series, the new Laredo looks back to the trim that helped define Jeep during the 1980s while staying firmly rooted in today's Wrangler lineup. Rather than chasing nostalgia alone, Jeep has used familiar styling cues to create something that feels both recognizable and current.
The production model also stays remarkably close to the Easter Jeep Safari concept that first drew attention earlier this year, carrying many of the same design themes from show vehicle to showroom.
Heritage styling with a modern finish
The biggest talking point is the exterior. Jeep has leaned into earth-tone colors and classic Southwest-inspired styling without making the Wrangler look dated.
The return of the tan soft top immediately stands out, especially when paired with the exclusive Gobi grille, bronze tow hooks and bronze-accented Jeep badging. Laredo-specific hood graphics and revised bodyside decals give the SUV a character of its own, while a rear "4WD" lasso decal adds another subtle nod to its inspiration. It all comes together without feeling overdone.
The standard Xtreme 35 Package adds practical capability alongside the styling updates. Every Wrangler Laredo rides on 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires wrapped around bronze beadlock-capable wheels, helping reinforce its off-road credentials from the first glance.
A warmer cabin than most Wranglers
Open the door and the heritage theme continues. Instead of the darker interiors commonly found across the Wrangler range, the Laredo adopts a predominantly Bison Brown cabin finished with Nappa leather upholstery and contrasting Mayan Gold stitching.
Global Black trim across the dashboard, center console and grab handles provides contrast, while exclusive Laredo badging appears throughout the interior. One particularly thoughtful detail is the rear swing gate plaque featuring the geographic coordinates of Laredo, Texas. Even the HVAC graphics include a subtle cowboy hat motif that quietly reinforces the model's Southwestern inspiration.
Capability remains the foundation
Although the styling takes center stage, Jeep hasn't forgotten what the Wrangler is built to do.
The 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo is based on the Wrangler Willys platform and comes standard with the Xtreme 35 Package, including a one-inch suspension lift and larger off-road tires. Buyers can also specify a trailer hitch with a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, while the model remains available in both two-door and four-door body styles.
A familiar badge for a new generation
Jeep isn't treating the Laredo as a simple appearance package. Instead, it serves as a modern interpretation of a name that helped shape the Wrangler's identity decades ago. By combining classic styling cues with proven Trail Rated hardware, the brand has created a special edition that feels authentic rather than nostalgic.
Orders for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo open later this month, with pricing starting at $1,995 above a Wrangler Willys equipped with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package.
