BMW confirms the i3 M60 xDrive M Performance model will launch in 2027.
Unique front and rear lighting joins exclusive 21 inch Style 1067M wheels.
BMW has not announced the M60's output, battery, range or acceleration figures.
The 2027 BMW i3 M60 xDrive NA0 will become the performance flagship of BMW's new electric 3 Series family when it arrives in 2027. For now, BMW is keeping much of the important technical information back. The September 2026 release confirms the model and some exterior details, but stops short of revealing its power output or battery specification.
M60 Gets Its Own Lighting Signature
The regular i3 introduces BMW's Neue Klasse face, where the kidneys, headlights and front sensors are visually grouped together. A horizontal lighting element runs across much of the nose, accompanied by vertically arranged daytime running lights.
The M60 will change that appearance. BMW says its M Performance flagship receives its own front area light graphic and the new M Yellow Lights. The latter draw inspiration from BMW's GT racing cars and M Hybrid V8.
At the back, BMW has confirmed a slightly slimmer, linear rear light graphic specifically for the i3 M60 xDrive.
Exclusive 21 Inch Wheels Set The Stance
The electric 3 Series measures 4,760 mm long, 1,865 mm wide and 1,480 mm tall, with a 2,897 mm wheelbase.
One detail is already settled. The i3 M60 will be available with exclusive 21 inch Style 1067M aerodynamic wheels. Standard i3 models otherwise offer 19 to 21 inch wheel designs.
The familiar electric 3 Series proportions remain underneath: short overhangs, a set back glasshouse, prominent wheel arches and flush fitting door handles.
Panoramic iDrive Shapes The Interior
BMW has not detailed an M60 specific cabin yet. The wider i3 family uses BMW Panoramic iDrive, with Panoramic Vision projecting information across the lower windscreen and a 17.9 inch Central Display angled toward the driver.
The electric 3 Series also offers M Sport seats, including an Adelaide Grey option within the BMW Individual interior specification.
Regular i3 models provide 420 litres of rear luggage space and another 31 litres beneath the bonnet. Rear backrests split 40:20:40.
BMW Keeps M60 Performance Figures Quiet
This is where the biggest gap remains. BMW describes the forthcoming i3 M60 xDrive as an M Performance model but provides no motor output, torque, acceleration, battery capacity, range or charging figures.
Those numbers should not be inferred from the i3 50 xDrive. That launch model uses two motors and produces 469 hp, but BMW has not confirmed how much further the M60 will go.
Electric Flagship Arrives In 2027
BMW says the i3 M60 xDrive will top the electric i3 range and is scheduled to premiere in 2027. The broader i3 family is produced at BMW Group Plant Munich.
Its positioning is clear even without final specifications: the M60 will serve as the M Performance counterpart to the combustion engined M350 xDrive, giving the eighth generation 3 Series a performance model on both sides of its powertrain range.
