The 2027 Volkswagen ID. Polo Life introduces 17-inch Edinburgh alloy wheels, LED headlights, velour upholstery and a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The electric hatchback uses Volkswagen's MEB+ platform, offering 116 PS, 135 PS and 211 PS powertrain options across the range, with 37 kWh and 52 kWh batteries and up to 281 miles of WLTP range.
Measuring 4,053 mm long, the ID. Polo provides five seats, a 441-litre boot and standard one-pedal driving. UK range pricing starts at £23,945 before the government electric car grant.
Volkswagen ID. Polo Life Brings Electric Power to the Supermini
The 2027 Volkswagen ID. Polo Life introduces an electric alternative to one of the company's longest-running nameplates, combining familiar hatchback proportions with a new front-wheel-drive platform.
The Life specification forms the entry point to the mainstream ID. Polo range, sitting below the more extensively equipped Style.
Volkswagen has retained much of the visual character associated with the petrol Polo, although the electric model has been developed around the MEB+ architecture rather than adapted from the existing combustion-engined car.
The result is a compact five-door hatchback with more interior room and a noticeably larger luggage compartment.
LED Headlights and 17 Inch Edinburgh Alloy Wheels
The ID. Polo Life follows Volkswagen's Pure Positive design language, with rounded LED headlight elements, a horizontal front panel and slightly flared wheel arches.
The Life specification receives 17-inch Edinburgh alloy wheels with a black diamond-turned finish, paired with 215/55 R17 tyres.
Black exterior mirror housings contrast with body-coloured bumpers, while LED rear combination lamps and illuminated door handle recesses complete the exterior equipment.
An illuminated Volkswagen badge and connecting front light strip are available as options.
The hatchback measures 4,053 mm long, 1,816 mm wide and 1,530 mm high, with a 2,592 mm wheelbase.
Digital Cockpit and Physical Interior Controls
Inside, the ID. Polo Life features a 10-inch Digital Cockpit and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen.
The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, accompanied by inductive smartphone charging and the IDA voice assistant.
Volkswagen has also retained physical controls for climate settings and audio functions.
Velour seat upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel and single-zone Climatronic air conditioning are included.
The digital displays can switch to retro graphics inspired by the original Golf, including analogue-style instruments and a cassette-player animation.
Electric Motors With Up to 281 Miles WLTP Range
The ID. Polo range uses the APP290 electric motor, driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission.
Three outputs are offered: 116 PS, 135 PS and 211 PS.
The two lower-powered versions use a 37 kWh LFP battery, while the 211 PS configuration receives a 52 kWh NMC battery.
Depending on specification, WLTP range extends from 200 to 281 miles.
DC charging reaches 88 kW with the smaller battery and 105 kW with the larger unit. A 10 to 80 percent charge takes approximately 23 to 24 minutes.
441 Litre Boot and Everyday Usability
The electric platform provides 19 mm more interior length than the petrol Polo.
Luggage capacity reaches 441 litres, expanding to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.
Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and one-pedal driving.
Optional equipment includes Connected Travel Assist and vehicle-to-load functionality for powering external devices.
UK Pricing and Life Specification Availability
Volkswagen opened UK orders for the regular Life and Style specifications in autumn 2026.
Prices for the wider ID. Polo range start at £23,945, falling to £22,445 with the government electric car grant applicable in October 2026.
The Life sits below the Style, which adds larger wheels, upgraded lighting and additional interior equipment.
Final pricing varies according to the selected battery, motor and optional equipment.
