2027 Hyundai Tucson European Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 3, 2026
European Tucson grows to 4,560 mm long with a 2,720 mm wheelbase.
Hybrid produces 245 PS, while the PHEV delivers up to 292 PS and 380 Nm.
Cargo capacity reaches 695 litres, with towing rated at up to 1,910 kg.
The 2027 Hyundai Tucson European Version brings a larger body, a substantially reworked cabin and a three-part powertrain range to Hyundai's C-segment SUV line-up. European production takes place at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech, where the Tucson continues a regional presence that has passed two million sales.
The new model measures 4,560 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall. Compared with its predecessor, that means another 35 mm in both length and width, while the wheelbase stretches 40 mm to 2,720 mm.
Art Of Steel Reshapes The Tucson
Hyundai's Art of Steel design language gives the Tucson pronounced fenders, restrained door surfaces and crisp body lines. At the nose, H-Edge lighting uses indirect central illumination and edge lighting to visually emphasize the SUV's width.
The rear gets the sculptural Prism Rear Lamp, featuring a three-dimensional internal structure. LED rear lamps are standard across the European range, while Micro Pixel Lighting with 25,600 individual LEDs is available depending on specification.
European wheel and tire combinations range from 215/65R17 to 235/45R20.
More Space Behind The Larger Body
The extra exterior size feeds into the cabin. European VDA luggage capacity reaches 695 litres, while rear legroom measures 1,002 mm. Rear seats use a 4:2:4 split and can slide through 150 mm.
Door opening angle has also increased from 73 to 83 degrees, a small change that should make getting into the cabin easier.
There are practical details throughout. Concealed umbrella holders sit inside the front doors, while rear doors incorporate dedicated cup holders.
Pleos Connect Brings Larger Screens
The dashboard adopts a two-layer layout, pairing a horizontal upper section with a deep open storage tray. A slim 9.9-inch instrument display sits ahead of the driver.
Pleos Connect runs on Android Automotive OS, with central touchscreen choices of 12.9 or 17 inches. Gleo AI voice recognition can access live internet data, while over-the-air updates support selected vehicle and infotainment functions.
Two 15 W wireless charging pads and four 100 W USB-C connections address device charging.
Hybrid And PHEV Lead The Powertrain Range
European buyers get three main powertrain choices. The 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine produces 150 PS and 250 Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual or 48V mild-hybrid seven-speed DCT configuration.
The Tucson Hybrid steps up to 245 PS and 380 Nm, with a 1.49 kWh battery and six-speed automatic. Hyundai quotes 0–100 km/h in 8.3 seconds for the 2WD version.
At the top of the electrified range, the PHEV develops 292 PS and 380 Nm. Its 17.1 kWh battery targets 81 km of electric driving with 17-inch wheels, subject to final homologation.
Towing capacity reaches 1,910 kg for the hybrid and 1,810 kg for the PHEV. Combined with its larger cabin and broader technology package, the new Tucson remains positioned squarely in Europe's heavily contested family C-SUV segment.
