2027 Hyundai Tucson XRT PRO

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • XRT PRO raises ground clearance to 210 mm, 30 mm above the standard Tucson.

  • AWD, all terrain tires, recovery hooks and dedicated cladding support off road use.

  • Smart Terrain Assist assesses traction and displays a real time terrain difficulty score.

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson XRT PRO takes the redesigned Tucson in a more off road focused direction. Rather than relying only on darker trim and rugged looking bumpers, Hyundai has given the XRT PRO additional clearance, all terrain tires, recovery hardware and dedicated electronic assistance for low speed driving away from pavement.

The model is offered in select markets, while the wider new Tucson reaches North America, Europe and other global markets during 2027.

Extra Cladding Protects The Lower Body

XRT PRO starts with the Tucson's new Art of Steel design, including pronounced fenders, restrained door surfaces and sharper body lines. The off road version adds a more extensive cladding package with forged carbon inspired patterns.

Strong vertical elements connect the front and rear fascia designs, while front recovery hooks provide a functional detail at the nose.

The result is noticeably more purposeful than the regular Tucson without changing the basic shape of Hyundai's five seat SUV.

Ground Clearance Rises To 210mm

Ground clearance is the important number here. XRT PRO sits at 210 mm, an increase of 30 mm over the standard Tucson's 180 mm.

Hyundai also specifies more aggressive approach and departure angles, though exact figures are not provided in the release. All wheel drive is standard equipment for the XRT PRO.

Interlocking wheel designs are wrapped in all terrain tires.

Dark Metal Details Mark The Cabin

The cabin retains the new Tucson's two layer dashboard layout. A horizontal upper section sits above a deep open storage tray, while a 9.9 inch slim driver display is positioned above the steering column.

Pleos Connect combines that display with either a 12.9 or 17 inch central touchscreen, depending on specification. Physical controls remain below the screen for frequently used climate and audio functions.

XRT PRO receives its own black monotone interior with dark metal accents, dedicated seat patterns and XRT logos.

Smart Terrain Assist Reads The Surface

The biggest technology difference is Hyundai's first Smart Terrain Assist, offered specifically on the XRT PRO in North America.

The system evaluates traction and wheel slip in real time, then presents a green, orange or red “stuck score” to indicate terrain difficulty.

Target Speed Control works between 2 and 25 km/h, automatically managing acceleration and braking while the driver concentrates on steering. Ground View Monitor and Memory Reversing Assist are also available within the broader Tucson technology package.
