2027 Hyundai Tucson Limited

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The redesigned Tucson grows to 4,700 mm long with a 2,785 mm wheelbase.

  • Pleos Connect combines a 12.9 or 17 inch touchscreen with a 9.9 inch driver display.

  • Gasoline, hybrid and plug in hybrid powertrains are detailed for the wider lineup.

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson Limited sits within a completely redesigned Tucson family arriving in global markets during 2027.

What the release does establish is the new Tucson's design, dimensions, cabin technology and available powertrain range. Hyundai will launch the SUV in Korea during 2026, followed by North America, Europe and other markets in 2027.

Art Of Steel Gives Tucson A Squarer Look

Hyundai's Art of Steel design language puts more emphasis on the SUV's structure. Pronounced fenders provide much of the visual weight, balanced by cleaner door surfaces and crisp body lines.

At the front, H Edge lighting combines indirect centre illumination with edge lighting to visually stretch the vehicle horizontally. Sculptural Prism Rear Lamps provide the corresponding rear signature.

Micro Pixel Lighting with 25,600 individual LED pixels is also available, though Hyundai specifies it for short wheelbase models not sold in North America.

Longer Wheelbase Opens Up The Cabin

The long wheelbase Tucson measures 4,700 mm long, 1,905 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall. Its 2,785 mm wheelbase is 30 mm longer than before.

Five seats are provided, with Hyundai quoting 1,064 mm of second row legroom and 1,067 litres of cargo volume using its domestic SAE measurement. Door opening angles have increased from 73 to 83 degrees, making rear access easier.

Wheel options across the range span 17 to 20 inches.

Pleos Connect Takes Centre Stage

Inside, a two layer dashboard separates the horizontal upper surface from a deep open storage tray. The Double D Cut steering wheel sits ahead of a slim 9.9 inch driver display.

Pleos Connect uses Android Automotive OS and pairs that driver display with either a 12.9 or 17 inch central touchscreen. Gleo AI provides conversational functions, while over the air updates and third party apps are supported.

Dual 15W wireless charging pads and 100W USB C charging are also listed. Hyundai retains physical controls for frequently used climate and audio functions.

Three Powertrain Types Are Detailed

The global Tucson range includes gasoline, hybrid and plug in hybrid configurations.

For the US market, the gasoline version produces 184 hp. The hybrid develops 233 hp and targets up to 42 mpg in front wheel drive form with 17 inch wheels.

The plug in hybrid produces 292 PS, uses a 17.1 kWh battery and offers an estimated 81 km of electric range in applicable markets.

Limited Specification Remains Unconfirmed

Available Tucson technology includes an In Cabin Monitoring Unit, Navigation Linked Smart Cruise Control, Memory Reversing Assist and Ground View Monitor.
