A special version of an already distinctive Bronco
The Bronco lineup has never been short on personality. From the beginning, Ford has offered versions aimed at rock crawlers, desert runners, and weekend explorers. The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson First Edition takes a slightly different path.
Created to mark the launch of the new Ford and Filson collaboration, the First Edition builds on the Bronco Filson while adding a handful of exclusive touches that won't be available elsewhere in the range. It's still unmistakably a Bronco underneath, but this version leans harder into the heritage and craftsmanship themes that define the partnership.
Looking through the details, the goal seems straightforward. Create a vehicle that feels connected to the outdoor gear people actually use rather than simply borrowing an outdoor lifestyle image.
Exclusive details set it apart
The easiest way to identify the Bronco Filson First Edition is its paint.
Ford reserves Iron Sands Copper Metallic exclusively for this launch model. The warm metallic finish gives the Bronco a noticeably different presence compared with the earthy greens, grays, and neutral tones offered elsewhere in the lineup. A dedicated fender badge and serialized console plaque further separate the First Edition from standard models.
Beyond those unique elements, the familiar Bronco Filson styling remains intact. A dedicated grille with prominent BRONCO lettering, heritage-painted wheel arches, painted mirror caps, and exclusive trail sight tie-downs contribute to the SUV's rugged appearance.
The proportions remain classic Bronco. Upright windshield, short overhangs, wide stance, and a visible emphasis on utility over decoration.
Materials designed for use, not display
Inside, Ford and Filson appear to have followed a simple rule: every material should serve a purpose.
The cabin combines perforated quilted leather with woven fabric inspired by Filson's rugged twill. Brass accents appear on the steering wheel bezel and G.O.A.T. Modes selector, while a leather-wrapped dashboard and steering wheel elevate the overall atmosphere.
Interestingly, Ford says this is the quietest Bronco cabin ever produced. Improved airflow management, acoustic glass, and upgraded seals reduce wind and road noise, creating a calmer environment during long-distance travel. Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and an upgraded B&O audio system further reinforce the premium focus.
The First Edition also includes Filson-inspired cargo storage bags, continuing the utility-first philosophy that runs throughout the vehicle.
Serious off-road hardware remains standard
Exclusive paint and special badges wouldn't mean much if the capability wasn't there.
Every Bronco Filson First Edition comes equipped with the Sasquatch Package and a specially tuned 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6. Front and rear electronic locking differentials, Fox shocks with internal bypass technology, and 35-inch rugged-terrain tires provide the mechanical foundation.
Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, seven G.O.A.T. Modes, and a standard 360-degree camera system help drivers navigate difficult terrain. A 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and onX Offroad trail mapping for those venturing well beyond paved roads.
Orders open in fall 2026, with showroom arrivals scheduled for early 2027. For buyers interested in owning the first chapter of the Ford and Filson partnership, the First Edition serves as both a launch model and a collector piece, while retaining the capability expected from any Bronco carrying the Built Wild name.
