2027 Ford Bronco Filson

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Developed through a collaboration between Ford and outdoor heritage brand Filson.

  • Standard Sasquatch Package and 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 underpin off-road capability.

  • Filson-inspired removable storage bags add practical utility throughout the cabin.

A Bronco built around the gear people actually use

Vehicle collaborations can sometimes feel like branding exercises. The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson takes a different approach.

Created jointly by Ford and Seattle-based outdoor outfitter Filson, the new model is aimed at owners who spend as much time loading camping equipment, fishing gear, and recovery tools as they do commuting. Looking through the details, the partnership appears less concerned with luxury in the traditional sense and more focused on durability, function, and materials designed to age alongside the vehicle.

Ford describes it as a premium addition to the Bronco lineup, but the emphasis remains firmly on capability.

The foundation is familiar. Underneath sits the same rugged ladder-frame architecture that has defined the modern Bronco since its return, paired with hardware intended to handle challenging terrain without modification.

Rugged styling with subtle heritage touches

From a distance, the Bronco Filson remains unmistakably a Bronco.

The boxy proportions, upright windshield, and short overhangs all carry over. The differences emerge in the details. A unique grille with distinct BRONCO lettering, heritage-painted wheel arches, painted mirror caps, and exclusive trail sight tie-downs help separate the model from the rest of the range.

The available color palette leans heavily into outdoor themes. Field Green Metallic, developed exclusively for the model, is joined by shades such as Marsh Gray, Desert Sand, Avalanche Gray, Oxford White, and Shadow Black. Looking at the imagery, the muted tones suit the Bronco's utilitarian character particularly well.

Nothing feels flashy. That seems intentional.

A cabin inspired by outdoor equipment

The interior is where Filson's influence becomes most obvious.

Rather than introducing delicate materials that owners might hesitate to use, Ford and Filson focused on surfaces intended to withstand years of wear. Perforated quilted leather is paired with woven fabric inspired by Filson's rugged twill, while brass accents appear on the steering wheel bezel and G.O.A.T. Modes selector.

One interesting detail stands out. Ford says this is the quietest Bronco cabin yet, thanks to improved airflow management, acoustic glass, and upgraded sealing. Wind noise has been reduced by nearly 20 percent compared with the 2021 Bronco.

Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and an upgraded B&O sound system further shift the experience toward long-distance comfort.

Utility remains the centerpiece

The most thoughtful features aren't necessarily the biggest ones.

Filson-inspired removable saddlebags are integrated throughout the cabin, including the doors and cargo area. Built from water- and dirt-resistant materials, the bags can be removed and carried directly to a campsite or trailhead. Their compartments are designed to hold everything from camera lenses and fly-fishing gear to first-aid supplies.

A digital rearview mirror with an integrated washer system maintains visibility when cargo blocks the rear window, while power-deploying running boards simplify entry into the lifted SUV.

These are small solutions to real-world problems, which feels very much in line with both Bronco and Filson.

Serious hardware beneath the surface

Every Bronco Filson comes standard with the Sasquatch Package and a specially tuned 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 shared with the Bronco Raptor. Front and rear locking differentials, Fox shocks with internal bypass technology, and 35-inch tires provide the hardware necessary for demanding off-road conditions.

Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, a 360-degree camera system, and G.O.A.T. Modes further expand the SUV's capability. A 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and onX Offroad trail mapping.

Orders open in fall 2026, with showroom arrivals expected in early 2027. For buyers who see outdoor gear as a long-term investment rather than disposable equipment, the Bronco Filson appears designed with the same philosophy in mind.
