Saleen positions Bronco as a tribute and performance statement
Saleen Automotive formally introduced its 2025 Saleen Bronco, dubbed the “Big Oly” tribute, inspired by the legendary Parnelli Jones’s 1971–72 Baja 1000–winning Bronco. The model is offered in limited numbers and aims to bridge the gap between off-road capability and collector appeal. Saleen describes it as a rugged, capable off-road vehicle, engineered for serious terrain while retaining street legitimacy.
The pricing and exact production volume have not been publicly specified by Saleen in the initial announcement.
Engine, power, and drivetrain tuning
Under the hood, Saleen uses a Saleen-calibrated 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine. Output has been bumped from Ford’s stock numbers to 375 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, making it a serious upgrade over standard variants.
Saleen pairs this engine with its Racecraft mid-travel suspension system, which includes patented BVS (Brake Vacuum System) technology and a special 5-link design tailored for off-road use.
To help tackle challenging surfaces, the Bronco rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, giving it serious grip and off-road presence.
Design geared toward form and function
The exterior merges off-road capability with Saleen’s styling cues. The front bumper is redesigned with an integrated skid plate to improve approach angles. The hood receives a dual-vent heat extractor. Saleen also reworks fenders (front and rear) with integrated vents and builds in a roof spoiler for added geometry.
Custom design touches include a redesigned Saleen grille and a high-downforce rear wing—elements referencing desert racing heritage. Lighting enhancements like KC HiLites add function and visual impact.
Interior upgrades aim to match the exterior’s ambition. Saleen fits premium leather seats with Alcantara suede inserts and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with body-color accents. Optional livery includes the iconic Olympia Beer scheme or custom Saleen Colorlab colors.
Off-road capability and road manners
While
built for trails, the Saleen Bronco is street-legal. That allows owners
to drive it both on tarmac and on dirt without needing a
trailer—provided they observe the limits of tire range and gearing.
Saleen emphasizes the dual-nature of the vehicle: purposeful off-road
capability, but usable on public roads.
The mid-travel suspension arrangement gives the Bronco better dynamic behavior over jumps and rough terrain, compared to typical short-travel setups. Saleen’s BVS and 5-link design are engineered to maintain control under off-road stresses.
