2027 BMW iX3 M60 xDrive NA5

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Dual electric motors produce 450 kW (612 hp) and 875 Nm, enabling 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

  • A 108.7 kWh battery provides up to 754 km of provisional WLTP range, with 400 kW DC charging.

  • Standard equipment includes M Yellow Lights, 21-inch wheels, adaptive M suspension and an electronically controlled rear M Sport differential.

The 2027 BMW iX3 M60 xDrive joins the Neue Klasse electric SUV range as its most powerful variant, combining a 612 hp dual-motor drivetrain with dedicated M Performance chassis hardware. It also introduces a more distinctive exterior treatment, including motorsport-inspired yellow lighting.

Orders open at the end of January 2027, with production scheduled to begin at BMW Group Plant Debrecen in Hungary during spring 2027.

M Yellow Lights Distinguish The Front

The iX3 M60 xDrive adopts BMW's Neue Klasse design language with several M-specific details. Its most recognisable feature is the M Yellow Lights signature, inspired by racing cars such as the BMW M Hybrid V8.

Three-part lighting elements beside the kidney grille reference BMW M stripes. The standard Iconic Glow package adds illuminated grille contours, adaptive headlights and welcome animations.

Sculpted Bodywork And 21 Inch M Wheels

The SUV measures 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,897 mm wheelbase. Short overhangs, pronounced wheel arches and a deeply inset glasshouse shape its proportions.

Standard 21-inch M alloy wheels can be replaced with optional 22-inch designs. Aerodynamic M mirror caps feature coloured stripes, while black roof rails reinforce the SUV profile.

At the rear, a black diffuser sits below distinctive lighting and an M60 badge. An M-specific roof spoiler incorporates two aeroblades to increase rear axle downforce.

M Sport Seats And Panoramic iDrive

Inside, BMW fits electrically adjustable M Sport seats with illuminated M logos, massage functionality and adjustable side support.

The driver faces a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and BMW Panoramic Vision, supported by Operating System X.

An M Sport steering wheel includes a red centre marker and dedicated Boost Mode and M Mode buttons. Standard audio comes from a 13-speaker, 430-watt Harman Kardon system.

Dual Motors Deliver 612 HP

The sixth-generation electric drivetrain uses one motor at each axle, producing 450 kW (612 hp) and 875 Nm.

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds, with a provisional top speed of 240 km/h.

BMW's Heart of Joy computer coordinates propulsion, braking and steering with M Dynamic Performance Control. Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering and an electronically controlled rear M Sport differential are standard.

108.7 kWh Battery And 400 kW Charging

The 108.7 kWh usable battery provides up to 754 km of provisional WLTP range.

Maximum DC charging reaches 400 kW, allowing up to 340 km of WLTP range to be added in ten minutes under specified conditions. Standard AC charging supports up to 22 kW.

BMW also includes SAE Level 2 driver assistance technology, with Motorway Assistant enabling hands-free driving at speeds up to 130 km/h where supported.

The M60 xDrive sits at the performance end of the iX3 range, retaining the Neue Klasse platform's long-distance electric capability while adding M-specific driving hardware.
