2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge Series II Gradient

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Gradient Two-Tone paint debuts on Spectre Series II. It takes up to four days per car and comes in four colourways over a black base.

  • The Black Badge version reaches 500 kW in Infinity Mode, making it the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever built, with up to 1,100 Nm in Spirited Mode.

  • Range rises by up to 18% to 390 miles WLTP, and charging times drop by up to 14%.

Gradient paint changes the Spectre’s look

Rolls-Royce has revealed the Spectre Series II and Black Badge Spectre Series II at Goodwood, and the 2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge Series II Gradient story starts with the paint. [Unverified: the 2027 model year isn’t stated in the release.] The marque’s usual two-tone finish splits the body along a horizontal line. Gradient Two-Tone fades colour from one end of the car to the other instead. Development took more than six months, and each car needs up to four days to paint. Buyers get four colourways, all applied over black. The release doesn’t name them, and it doesn’t explicitly pair Gradient with the Black Badge.

Same silhouette, new wheels and Iced Black trim

The fastback roofline, clean surfacing and split headlamps stay as they were. The car is 5,490 mm long on a 3,210 mm wheelbase, stands 1,585 mm tall and weighs 2,925 kg. A new 23-inch forged wheel has faceted spokes and takes up to six hours of hand finishing per wheel.

Black Badge gets its own open-spoke seven-spoke design with a polished outer ring, which shows off the brakes. It also comes in Iced Matte Black, a first for a Black Badge wheel. The new Iced Black detailing mattes most of the brightwork: grille surround, sideframe finishers, bumper inserts, door handles and the Spirit of Ecstasy. The Pantheon Grille vanes stay polished.

An interior built around textiles and light

The cabin seats four. Duality Twill, a bamboo-based rayon, is embroidered with a graphic drawn from the founders’ interlinked R initials. A full interior can use up to 2.6 million stitches and 10 miles of thread, and takes about 25 hours to make. It comes in Lilac, Chocolate, Black and a new Sage.

Placed Perforation leather carries a cloud-and-moonlight pattern made of 78,138 holes. A Brindled Walnut veneer is made from walnut that would otherwise be burned, plus leftover eucalyptus fibre. The fascia now holds an Illuminated Fascia panel with 8,108 pixel-like lights, and a new aviation-style clock sits in a vitrine with a steel Spirit of Ecstasy.

Power, range and charging

Standard Spectre Series II makes 442 kW and 1,015 Nm. The Black Badge reaches 500 kW in Infinity Mode, and Spirited Mode lifts torque to as much as 1,100 Nm. Rolls-Royce quotes 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds for the Black Badge and 4.4 for the standard car.

Re-engineered battery cells push WLTP range up to 390 miles. The pack is 112.4 kWh net. A 10-80% top-up at 195 kW DC takes 28 minutes, and a full 22 kW AC charge takes about 5 hours 30 minutes in the Black Badge.

Everyday use and where it sits

Rolls-Royce says owners average around 4,000 miles a year, charge at home and mostly drive alone. Spectre was the marque’s second best-selling model in 2025. The release names no rivals and gives no pricing.
