Black Badge Spectre Series II delivers up to 500 kW and 1,100 Nm.
Driving range increases to a maximum WLTP figure of 390 miles.
New Iced Black exterior detailing introduces a darker visual identity.
Rolls-Royce's alter ego gets even more serious
The original Black Badge Spectre never felt short on presence.
It was already the most assertive expression of Rolls-Royce's first electric coupe, combining silent performance with the sort of visual attitude rarely associated with the brand. For 2027, Rolls-Royce has decided that wasn't quite enough.
The new 2027 Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge Series II arrives with more power, more range, and a fresh round of design updates. The changes aren't dramatic at first glance. Then again, Rolls-Royce rarely works that way. The details tend to reveal themselves gradually.
Looking at the official images, the familiar fastback silhouette remains untouched. That's hardly surprising. Since its debut, Spectre has become one of the marque's most celebrated modern designs, and Rolls-Royce clearly sees little reason to interfere with a shape that clients already admire.
A darker approach to luxury
The biggest visual change comes through a new finish called Iced Black.
Rather than replacing chrome with gloss-black trim, Rolls-Royce has developed a satin-like matte treatment that extends across much of the exterior brightwork. The grille surround, side trim, bumper details, door handles, and even the Spirit of Ecstasy receive the darker finish. Interestingly, the grille vanes remain polished, preserving a small but important piece of the car's traditional identity.
New seven-spoke wheels reinforce the look. The design pushes the polished outer rim toward the edge of the wheel, making the already substantial coupe appear even larger. Fine glass flakes embedded within the finish create a subtle sparkle effect when light catches the surface.
It's an unusual combination. Dark, but not aggressive. Luxurious, but still unmistakably Black Badge.
More power without disturbing the silence
The numbers tell an interesting story.
Black Badge Spectre Series II now produces up to 500 kW through Infinity Mode and as much as 1,100 Nm of torque in Spirited Mode, making it the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever produced. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes just 4.1 seconds, remarkable for a vehicle weighing nearly three tonnes.
Rolls-Royce has also improved efficiency. Updated battery cell technology increases maximum WLTP range to 390 miles while reducing charging times by 14 percent. A 10 to 80 percent charge can be completed in 28 minutes using a 195 kW DC charger.
Yet none of these figures feel like the central point of the car.
Rolls-Royce continues to talk about effortlessness rather than outright speed, and that philosophy remains evident throughout the update.
Bespoke remains the real attraction
Perhaps the most revealing part of the announcement has little to do with performance.
According to Rolls-Royce, Spectre has become one of its most requested Bespoke canvases, second only to Phantom. Some owners commission more than twenty individual Bespoke elements for a single car.
Series II expands those possibilities further. New Duality Twill fabric made from bamboo-derived rayon joins the options list, while Placed Perforation leather introduces intricate illuminated patterns inspired by moonlit clouds. A redesigned illuminated fascia incorporates 8,108 individual light elements, and a new aviation-inspired clock sits within a dedicated display cabinet across the dashboard.
That focus on craftsmanship explains why Spectre continues to resonate with Rolls-Royce buyers. The Black Badge Series II may be faster, more powerful, and capable of travelling farther on a charge, but its biggest appeal still lies in the ability to become something uniquely personal.
