2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric W540 UK Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 8, 2026
The C 400 4MATIC Electric produces 360 kW (489 PS), accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and offers up to 762 km of WLTP range.
A 94 kWh usable battery supports 330 kW DC charging, adding up to 325 km of WLTP range in ten minutes under specified conditions.
The electric saloon features a grille with 1,050 illuminated dots, optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen and available AIRMATIC air suspension.
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric introduces a dedicated battery-electric version of the brand's established midsize saloon, with new proportions, a redesigned cabin and an 800-volt electrical architecture.
The first model confirmed for launch is the C 400 4MATIC Electric, combining two electric motors with a 94 kWh battery. Mercedes-Benz also plans additional rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, including different battery configurations.
Illuminated Grille And Star-Shaped Headlights
The electric C-Class adopts a low front end with a wide chrome-framed grille. Behind its smoked-glass appearance sit 1,050 illuminated dots, accompanied by an illuminated Mercedes-Benz star.
Star-shaped lighting elements appear in the headlights, while optional DIGITAL LIGHT technology provides a different illumination signature.
The rear departs from the conventional C-Class design. Four round, deep-red star-shaped taillights sit within split lighting assemblies, giving the saloon a distinctive appearance.
Coupé-Like Roofline And Longer Wheelbase
A sloping roofline, short overhangs and rounded rear create a profile closer to a fastback than a traditional three-box saloon.
The wheelbase measures 2,962 mm, an increase of 97 mm over the combustion-engined C-Class saloon. Flared wheel arches accommodate aerodynamically optimised wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
Mercedes-Benz quotes a drag coefficient starting at 0.22.
39.1 Inch Hyperscreen And Panoramic Roof
Inside, the electric C-Class introduces an optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen spanning the dashboard. An alternative MBUX Superscreen combines three displays beneath a continuous glass surface.
The Mercedes-Benz Operating System, MB.OS, supports over-the-air updates, connected navigation and an AI-powered virtual assistant.
An optional SKY CONTROL panoramic roof features nine independently switchable glass sections and 162 illuminated stars.
The redesigned interior also offers electrically adjustable seats, massage functions, ventilated wireless charging trays and an independently certified vegan interior package.
C 400 4MATIC Delivers 360 kW
The launch-specification C 400 4MATIC Electric produces 360 kW and reaches 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds.
Its rear electric motor uses a two-speed transmission, while the front motor can disconnect when additional traction is unnecessary.
Optional AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering provide further chassis flexibility. The latter reduces the turning circle to 11.2 metres.
762 KM Range And 330 kW Charging
The 94 kWh battery delivers up to 762 km of WLTP range. Maximum DC charging power reaches 330 kW, with up to 325 km of range recoverable in ten minutes under specified conditions.
Practicality remains part of the package. The rear boot holds 470 litres, supplemented by a 101-litre front compartment. Maximum braked towing capacity reaches 1,800 kg.
