2027 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 SUV X591
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 19, 2026
The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SUV leads AMG's first independently developed full-size electric SUV range, using three axial-flux motors and the dedicated AMG.EA platform.
Maximum output reaches 860 kW (1,169 PS) and 2,000 Nm, with 0–100 km/h acceleration taking 2.7 seconds, or 2.5 seconds using one-foot rollout.
Two battery capacities, 106 kWh and 128 kWh, provide up to 700 km WLTP range and 710 kW DC charging, while active suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes support the performance-focused chassis.
Mercedes AMG GT 63 SUV Shows 1,169 PS Electric Performance
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 SUV is the top of the line model in AMG's new line of electric SUVs, and it brings with it a three-motor powertrain and chassis technology designed for performance driving.
It is the flagship version of Mercedes-AMG's first independently developed full-size SUV, built on the AMG.EA platform also used by the AMG GT four-door coupe.
The GT 63 joins the less powerful GT 55 and GT 53, although its 1,169 PS output places it well above the other two configurations.
Mercedes-AMG plans to introduce the GT 63 in spring 2027, with production taking place at the Sindelfingen factory in Germany.
Wide Bodywork and Active Rear Spoiler Define the Design
The GT 63 SUV has a low roofline, broad shoulders and pronounced wheel arches, giving its large body a more coupe-like profile.
At the front, vertical metallic grille elements sit between headlights featuring star-shaped daytime running lights.
Six circular turbine-inspired taillights distinguish the rear.
The active AEROKINETICS roof spoiler adjusts its position above 150 km/h, while adjustable front air shutters regulate cooling airflow.
The SUV measures 5,084 mm long, 2,001 mm wide and 1,656 mm high, with a 3,040 mm wheelbase.
Three Axial Flux Motors Deliver 2,000 Nm
The GT 63 uses three axial-flux electric motors, with two positioned at the rear axle and one at the front.
Together, they produce up to 860 kW (1,169 PS) and 2,000 Nm.
Mercedes-AMG quotes 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, falling to 2.5 seconds with one-foot rollout. Maximum speed reaches 270 km/h with the Driver's Package.
The AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system continuously adjusts torque distribution, including individual rear-wheel torque vectoring.
Standard AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ suspension controls pitch and roll, along with rear-wheel steering and carbon-ceramic brakes.
128 kWh battery – up to 700 km distance
The electric powertrain uses a directly cooled cylindrical cell battery with 800 volts.
The usable capacity for buyers is either 106 kWh or 128 kWh.
With the bigger battery, the WLTP range starts at up to 700 km, while the DC charging power rises to 710 kW.
Under specified conditions, charging from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 12 minutes.
The smaller battery supports up to 600 kW DC charging.
Three Screen Interior With AMG Race Engineer
Inside, the driver faces a 10.2-inch instrument display and an angled 14-inch central touchscreen.
A separate 14-inch screen serves the front passenger.
AMG RACE ENGINEER adds three rotary controls for adjusting powertrain response, cornering behaviour and traction.
The cabin also includes a three-seat rear bench, foldable backrests and an optional SKY CONTROL panoramic glass roof.
Luggage capacity starts at 607 litres, expanding to 1,740 litres with the rear seats folded.
GT 63 SUV Arrives in Spring 2027
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SUV is scheduled to join the range in spring 2027, following the introduction of the GT 53.
Pricing for the flagship has not yet been announced.
The GT 53 starts at €113,050 in Germany, but that figure does not apply to the GT 63.
