2027 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT SUV X591
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 19, 2026
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT SUV is AMG's first independently developed full-size SUV, built on the AMG.EA electric architecture and offered in GT 53, GT 55 and GT 63 versions.
The flagship AMG GT 63 SUV produces 860 kW (1,169 PS) and 2,000 Nm, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, or 2.5 seconds with one-foot rollout.
Battery options include 106 kWh and 128 kWh units, with up to 700 km WLTP range and 710 kW DC charging. The GT 53 starts at €113,050 in Germany.
Mercedes AMG GT SUV Rolls Out New Electric Performance SUV
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT SUV is a big deal for the Affalterbach brand. For the first time in its history, Mercedes-AMG has developed a full-size SUV independently, rather than adapting an existing Mercedes-Benz model.
Built on the dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture, the new model joins the AMG GT four-door coupe in the company's next generation of electric performance vehicles.
Three versions are planned: GT 53, GT 55 and GT 63. Each combines electric all-wheel drive with a low-mounted battery and chassis technology developed for AMG.
Wide Stance and Active Aerodynamics Define the Exterior
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT SUV adopts a comparatively low roofline, pronounced wheel arches and broad rear shoulders.
Its front end features an AMG-specific grille with vertical metallic strakes, optional illumination and headlights incorporating star-shaped daytime running lights.
Six circular turbine-inspired taillights distinguish the rear, accompanied by an optional illuminated light strip.
An active AEROKINETICS roof spoiler operates above 150 km/h on the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 55 and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63, while adjustable front air shutters regulate cooling airflow.
The flagship measures 5,084 mm long, 2,001 mm wide and 1,656 mm high, with a 3,040 mm wheelbase.
Three Electric Motors Deliver Up to 1,169 PS
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 uses three axial-flux motors producing 860 kW (1,169 PS) and 2,000 Nm.
Mercedes-AMG quotes 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, dropping to 2.5 seconds using one-foot rollout. Maximum speed reaches 270 km/h with the Driver's Package.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 55 develops 816 PS, while the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 uses two synchronous motors producing 544 PS.
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ distributes torque between the axles, supported by active rear-wheel steering.
The new AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL+ suspension introduces active pitch and roll stabilisation, helping control body movements during cornering, acceleration and braking.
128 kWh Battery Supports 700 KM WLTP Range
The flagship's 800-volt battery is available with 106 kWh or 128 kWh usable capacity.
Directly cooled cylindrical cells support repeated high-power operation and DC charging rates reaching 710 kW.
With the larger battery, Mercedes-AMG quotes up to 700 km WLTP range and approximately 12 minutes for a 10–80 percent charge under specified conditions.
Driver Focused Cockpit With Three Digital Displays
Inside, a 14-inch central touchscreen angles towards the driver, alongside a 10.2-inch instrument display and a separate 14-inch passenger screen.
The AMG RACE ENGINEER system provides rotary controls for adjusting response, agility and traction.
Rear passengers receive a three-seat bench, while the boot offers 607 litres of luggage capacity.
An optional SKY CONTROL panoramic roof and Burmester 4D audio system expand comfort equipment.
German Pricing Starts at €113,050
Orders for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 open on October 20, 2026, starting at €113,050 in Germany.
The more powerful Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 55 and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 versions follow in spring 2027.
Production takes place at Mercedes-Benz's Sindelfingen plant, where facilities have been adapted for the AMG.EA platform.
