2027 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The GranTurismo Trofeo makes 590hp and 650Nm from its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 Nettuno, hitting 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed above 320km/h.

  • Trofeo-specific styling includes dedicated bumpers, front air intakes and a rear diffuser, forged Pegaso wheels, and carbon-fibre side skirts and front splitter.

  • The trim adds E-LSD and a sports exhaust, plus a Corsa drive mode not offered on the base 490 CV version, alongside Alcantara headliner and RED leather seats.

Maserati's mid-cycle update for the GranTurismo lands with a sharper face and, on the Trofeo variant specifically, a bump to 590hp. It's the sportiest of three versions in the refreshed range — sitting above the 490hp base car and below the 760hp Folgore electric model — and Maserati built the changes around drivers who want the model's most committed personality.

Exterior Design

The whole GranTurismo range gets a redesigned front for MY27: reworked air intakes with slits to pull in boundary-layer airflow, a CFD-developed air curtain around the wheel arches, and an optimised central splitter for more front downforce. The Trofeo takes that further with its own specific bumpers, front air intakes and rear diffuser, none of which are shared with the other trims. Side skirts and an optional front splitter come in exposed carbon fibre, and badges get a Twilight Chrome finish. Around back, new clear-lens taillights carry a boomerang-and-harpoon shape across the whole lineup, done in Full LED.

Proportions and Stance

At 4,976mm long, the Trofeo runs 7mm longer than the 490 CV version, largely down to its distinct rear bumper. Both share the same 2,929mm wheelbase and 1,358mm height. The Trofeo rides on 20/21-inch forged Pegaso wheels as standard, with Diamond Cut Gloss Black Pegaso, matte or gloss Astreo, and the new gloss-black Trident design available as options — that last one widening the track by 10mm for sharper cornering and higher-speed stability.

Interior Space and Technology

Inside, the Trofeo pairs a leather-and-Alcantara steering wheel with an Alcantara headliner and full-grain leather seats finished in RED — a notably sportier palette than the 490 CV's standard Nero. The wheel is heated as standard here, a feature that's optional on the base car. Shared across the range are a new racing-inspired steering wheel with a flattened rim, a redesigned Maserati Digital Clock with a metal, octagonal bezel, a reworked three-dimensional PRND selector, and a digital cockpit spanning a 12.3-inch central display, 8.8-inch Comfort display, 12.2-inch instrument cluster and a head-up display. A new driver fatigue and distraction monitoring system also debuts across the lineup.

Powertrain and Performance

Power comes from the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 Nettuno running Maserati's Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion technology, tuned to 590hp and 650Nm on the Trofeo — up from 490hp and 600Nm on the base car. Maserati quotes 3.5 seconds for 0-100km/h and a top speed above 320km/h, run through an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Trofeo adds an electronic limited-slip differential and a sports exhaust not available on the 490 CV, and it's the only V6 trim offered with Corsa drive mode alongside the standard GT and Sport settings.

Practical Usability

Despite the sportier focus, Maserati still positions the GranTurismo as a genuine four-seater, with 310 litres of boot space shared across both V6 trims.
