  • 1,604PS triple-motor drivetrain delivers a claimed 0-62mph time of 1.96 seconds with optional semi-slick tyres.

  • Racing model gains dedicated aerodynamic upgrades producing up to 1,060kg of downforce at 217mph.

  • FLASH Charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 97% in nine minutes under compatible conditions.

2027 Denza Z Racing arrives with serious track ambitions

The 2027 Denza Z Racing is more than another high-powered electric sports car. Revealed alongside the Coupe and Spider variants at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Racing version pushes the concept further with dedicated aerodynamic hardware, revised cooling, and a sharper chassis setup aimed at circuit driving.

While the standard Z already posts impressive performance figures, the Racing model is clearly the one developed with lap times in mind.

Aerodynamics become part of the design

At first glance, the Z Racing keeps the same flowing proportions as the Coupe, but closer inspection reveals substantial changes. A redesigned front air intake feeds a multi-duct cooling system that improves electric motor cooling by 50 percent while increasing brake cooling by 32 percent.

Carbon-fibre components are used extensively, including a front splitter, underfloor vortex generators and body vents. Buyers can also specify a three-position adjustable carbon-fibre rear wing. Together, these components generate up to 1,060kg of downforce at 217mph, giving the Racing model a noticeably more purposeful appearance than the road-focused versions.

Driver focused cabin with modern technology

Inside, the cabin remains practical for a performance car thanks to its four-seat layout, although buyers can replace the rear seats with a roll cage and carbon-fibre trim if they prefer a more dedicated track setup.

The cockpit centres around the steering wheel, where physical buttons provide quick access to Boost and Track modes. Carbon fibre, suede-effect materials and metallic finishes give the interior a technical feel, while an 8.88-inch digital instrument display and 12.8-inch infotainment screen handle vehicle functions and connectivity.

Track Mode also records lap data, G-force information and vehicle positioning, allowing drivers to review and export performance data after each session.

Triple motors deliver remarkable acceleration

Power comes from DENZA's e3 Sports Car Platform, combining three electric motors to produce a maximum of 1,604PS and 1,240Nm. The Racing model can sprint from 0-62mph in a claimed 1.96 seconds when equipped with optional semi-slick tyres and continues to a claimed top speed of 217mph.

Supporting that performance are carbon-ceramic brakes, DiSus-M intelligent suspension with coil springs on the Racing version, torque vectoring and the company's intelligent triple-motor control system.

Fast charging and everyday usability

Despite its performance focus, the Z Racing retains features expected from a premium EV. The 76kWh second-generation Blade Battery supports FLASH Charging, allowing a 10 to 97 percent recharge in as little as nine minutes under compatible conditions.

The Racing model also includes heated and ventilated seats with massage, a Devialet audio system, digital rear-view mirror, wireless phone charging and Vehicle-to-Load capability. Orders for the Coupe, Spider and Racing variants are expected to begin this summer in selected markets, with customer deliveries planned before the end of the year.
