By Lorenzo Bianchi October 6, 2026
Hand assembled 5.5 litre LT6 V8 produces 475kW and 595Nm with an 8,600rpm redline.
Australian Z06 models come standard in high grade 3LZ Coupe specification.
Pricing is $299,990 in Australia, with customer orders open from October 1, 2026.
The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is heading to Australia as a build to order model, giving local customers access to Chevrolet's naturally aspirated, mid engined performance car with considerably more scope for factory personalisation.
GM Australia and New Zealand has confirmed the MY27 Z06 exclusively in 3LZ Coupe specification. Australian pricing is $299,990, including GST and Luxury Car Tax but excluding on road costs. New Zealand pricing is $309,990.
Z06 Offers An Extensive Choice Of Exterior Details
Rather than introducing a single fixed appearance, Chevrolet is letting customers configure each Z06 against a confirmed order. There are ten exterior colours, including new Pitch Grey Metallic, Admiral Blue Metallic and Roswell Green Metallic.
Wheel choices remain suitably serious. The Z06 uses staggered 20 inch front and 21 inch rear forged wheels, with finishes ranging from polished and gloss black to pearl nickel and several carbon fibre treatments.
The available Z07 Performance Package goes further with a carbon fibre high wing rear spoiler, additional carbon aerodynamic components, performance suspension, upgraded brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres. Carbon fibre ground effects and removable carbon fibre roof options are also available.
Three Screens Reshape The Cockpit
The MY27 cabin receives Chevrolet's reworked Corvette display layout. A 14 inch Driver Information Centre sits ahead of the driver, joined by a 12.7 inch centre display and a separate 6.6 inch auxiliary touchscreen to the right of the steering wheel.
Standard 3LZ equipment includes GT2 bucket seats trimmed in Napa leather, carbon fibre garnish, suede microfibre upper trim, carbon fibre steering wheel detailing and paddles. A head up display, Bose 14 speaker audio system, Front Lift with Memory and Performance Data Recorder are standard too.
The Performance Data Recorder gains side by side video analysis and automated speed tips, while Performance Traction Management includes PTM Pro Mode. Google Maps, Gemini and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also supported.
LT6 V8 Revs To 8,600rpm
Behind the cabin sits the hand assembled 5.5 litre LT6 naturally aspirated V8. Its flat plane crankshaft, variable valve timing and dry sump lubrication help produce 475kW at 8,550rpm and 595Nm at 6,300rpm.
The engine revs to 8,600rpm and sends power through an eight speed dual clutch transmission with a Z06 specific final drive ratio. Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, an electronic limited slip differential and six piston front Brembo brakes are also part of the Z06 chassis package.
Australian Production Starts In January
Orders opened on October 1, 2026. Production is scheduled to begin at GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant in January 2027, with delivery timing depending on each customer's specification and production schedule.
That build to order approach separates the MY27 Z06 from a conventional fixed specification launch. Buyers can configure everything from wheels and brake colours to roof treatments, stripes and track focused hardware before their Corvette enters production.
