Only 10 Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa cars are being produced, and every example has already been sold.
Its carbon fiber aerodynamic package generates approximately 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, nearly five times the load of the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 produces 520 hp, while the cabin uses genuine material taken from a Luna Rossa racing sail.
Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa Connects Road and Sailing
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa is a 10 car limited series developed through BOTTEGAFUORISERIE and created as the first production result of Alfa Romeo's partnership with the Luna Rossa sailing team.
Presented at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, it starts with the Giulia Quadrifoglio built at Alfa Romeo's Cassino plant before undergoing a separate artisanal transformation involving specialist Italian partners.
The connection with Luna Rossa is more than a name or exterior graphic. Alfa Romeo has carried ideas from the AC75 racing yacht into the car's aerodynamics, materials, colors and interior details, while keeping the familiar Quadrifoglio powertrain underneath.
All 10 examples were already sold when Alfa Romeo publicly presented the car.
Carbon Aero Package Produces 140 kg of Downforce
The largest technical change is aerodynamic rather than mechanical.
Alfa Romeo developed a dedicated low drag carbon fiber package incorporating new front bumper appendages, underbody profiles, carbon side skirts and a distinctive dual-profile rear wing.
Together, these elements allow the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa to generate approximately 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h. Alfa Romeo says that is nearly five times the aerodynamic load generated by the production Quadrifoglio.
The added load was not concentrated entirely at the rear. The aerodynamic balance places approximately 40 percent at the front, helping preserve the basic balance of the production car.
Front appendages make use of accelerated airflow around the edges of the bumper, while additional profiles underneath the car create a ground-effect suction area. The carbon fiber side skirts help control airflow beneath the body.
It is a more substantial aerodynamic rework than the oversized rear wing alone suggests.
Dual Rear Wing Takes Its Shape From Luna Rossa
The rear wing provides the clearest visual connection between the Giulia and Luna Rossa's AC75 racing yacht.
It uses two profiles supported by a pair of central pylons and draws inspiration from the foils used by the AC75. On the yacht, those surfaces generate lift to raise the hull above the water. Alfa Romeo applied the principle in the opposite direction, using the profiles to generate downforce and press the Giulia toward the road.
Its engineers also developed a variable-incidence profile intended to work with the high-energy airflow around the rear of the car. The aim was to produce substantial aerodynamic load without requiring an excessively large wing surface.
Despite the additional downforce, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa can reach 300 km/h.
520 HP Twin Turbo V6 Remains Under the Hood
The Luna Rossa does not rely on a major increase in engine output.
Its 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 produces 520 hp and is paired with a mechanical limited-slip differential. The differential manages torque transfer across the rear axle, supporting traction and stability as the aerodynamic package increases high-speed load.
The familiar Quadrifoglio powertrain is therefore largely retained. The defining performance change comes from airflow management and aerodynamic stability rather than additional horsepower.
This separates the Luna Rossa's approach from specials that concentrate primarily on engine output. Here, the engineering focus sits around the body of the car.
Hand Painted Bodywork References the AC75 Yacht
The exterior treatment takes its inspiration from the Luna Rossa AC75 that competed in the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona in 2024.
Its body is hand painted in an iridescent finish designed to reproduce the metallic appearance of steel. Black sections contrast with the grey bodywork, while a red stripe along the side carries Luna Rossa identification.
Visible carbon fiber appears on the roof, Alfa Romeo shield and mirror caps.
The Alfa Romeo badges are another small but unusual detail. Their backgrounds are red, something Alfa Romeo says has not previously appeared on one of its production models.
19 Inch Wheels Use a Dedicated Red Finish
The Giulia retains 19 inch wheels, but their finish was created specifically for the Luna Rossa edition.
Red coloring ties the wheels visually to the exterior graphics and cabin accents, adding another reference to the sailing team's identity.
Combined with the exposed carbon elements, iridescent paint and dual rear wing, the treatment makes the Luna Rossa immediately distinguishable from a regular Giulia Quadrifoglio even before the graphics are considered.
Real Luna Rossa Sail Material Appears Inside
The sailing connection becomes more literal inside.
An ultra-thin film taken from an original Luna Rossa sail is incorporated into the dashboard fascia. Rather than simply reproducing the appearance of the material, Alfa Romeo uses material supplied by the sailing team and processes it for installation in the car.
The dashboard therefore contains an actual physical component associated with Luna Rossa.
Carbon fiber also appears around the cabin, including the central tunnel and seat shells.
Sparco Seats Reference the Crew's Flotation Equipment
Dedicated Sparco seats receive upholstery inspired by the Personal Flotation Devices worn by Luna Rossa crew members.
Their materials, textures and graphics continue the nautical theme without changing the basic driver-focused layout of the Giulia Quadrifoglio cabin. Luna Rossa identification also appears on the carbon seat shells.
These details make the interior one of the more unusual aspects of the limited series, particularly because some of its materials come directly from the sailing program rather than simply copying its colors.
How Luna Rossa Differs From a Standard Giulia Quadrifoglio
The fundamental architecture and 2.9 liter V6 remain familiar, but the Luna Rossa adds a collection of changes concentrated on aerodynamics, materials and appearance.
The most important difference is the carbon fiber aerodynamic package. Front appendages, underbody profiles, dedicated side skirts and the dual rear wing increase downforce to approximately 140 kg at 300 km/h.
The exterior then adds hand-painted iridescent bodywork, red graphics, unique wheel finishing, exposed carbon elements and red-background Alfa Romeo badges.
Inside are the dedicated Sparco seats, carbon trim and dashboard material taken from a Luna Rossa sail.
The result is not simply a different color and badge package. Its most significant functional distinction is the additional aerodynamic load.
Luna Rossa and the Alfa Romeo Partnership
Alfa Romeo announced its partnership with Luna Rossa in June 2025.
The program covers sporting involvement, technical cooperation and special vehicles inspired by sailing. The Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa became the first road-going result of that relationship.
The partnership also looks toward the 38th America's Cup, which is scheduled to bring the competition to Italy for the first time, with racing in the Bay of Naples.
For Alfa Romeo, that gives the Luna Rossa edition a specific place in the Giulia story: it connects one of the brand's established performance sedans with an Italian competition program operating in a very different environment.
