By Lorenzo Bianchi December 26, 2025
Illuminated Peugeot emblem and revised three-claw lighting define the new front design.
Fully electric E308 SW offers up to 450 km WLTP range with 115 kW output.
Plug & Charge and Vehicle-to-Load functionality arrive from spring 2026.
Design and proportions of the vehicle
The 2026 Peugeot E308 SW GT Hybrid refines an estate silhouette that has long balanced elegance with function. The long roofline and slim rear remain unchanged, giving the SW its practical stance, but the visual emphasis has shifted forward. From GT trim upward, the E308 SW becomes the first model in the Peugeot range to feature an illuminated brand emblem, positioned centrally within a newly sculpted grille finished in body colour.
Fine illuminated lines extend from the emblem toward the headlamps, visually widening the front and reinforcing the car’s planted look. Peugeot’s three-claw lighting signature is sharper than before, with slim LED elements at the front and matching three-claw LED lamps at the rear, arranged across a black horizontal strip. New alloy wheel designs and updated colours, including Lagoa Blue, add subtle freshness without altering the estate’s restrained character.
Electric performance and powertrain focus
At the heart of the E308 SW GT Hybrid is Peugeot’s fully electric powertrain. A 115 kW (156 PS) electric motor delivers 270 Nm of torque, paired with a 58.3 kWh battery, of which 55.4 kWh is usable. This setup provides a WLTP EAER combined range of up to 450 km, placing the E308 SW among the most efficient models in its segment.
Energy recovery is adjustable via steering-wheel paddles, allowing drivers to select between three levels of regenerative braking. Charging flexibility is broad. An 11 kW three-phase on-board charger is standard, while DC fast charging at up to 100 kW allows the battery to charge from 20 to 80 percent in around 32 minutes.
Interior layout and connected features
Inside, the E308 SW GT Hybrid continues with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit layout. A compact steering wheel sits low, while the digital instrument cluster and 10-inch central touchscreen are positioned high and close to the driver’s line of sight. With aluminum trim and Alcantara upholstery available on higher trims, the dashboard design is still simple and horizontal.
Five configurable i-Toggles beneath the touchscreen provide quick access to frequently used functions. Connectivity is expanded through over-the-air updates and a suite of digital services. From spring 2026, Plug & Charge functionality simplifies public charging by allowing automatic vehicle recognition at compatible stations, while Vehicle-to-Load capability enables the high-voltage battery to power external electrical devices up to 3.5 kW via an optional adapter.
Market positioning and the context of segments
Efficiency and adaptability continue to be top priorities in the European C-segment real estate market, where the 2026 Peugeot E308 SW GT Hybrid is well-positioned. Peugeot’s broader strategy is evident. Alongside the fully electric E308, the 308 range also offers plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid, and diesel options, all within a single design family.
Designed in France and produced at Peugeot’s Mulhouse plant, the E308 SW benefits from Peugeot Care coverage of up to eight years or 160,000 km, depending on conditions. Rather than chasing disruption, the E308 SW GT Hybrid reinforces a measured approach, combining electrification, practicality, and a clearly defined design identity for buyers navigating the shift toward electric mobility.
