2026 Lexus ES 350e Australian Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 5, 2026
Single front electric motor produces 165kW and drives the front wheels.
The 74.7kWh battery supports 150kW DC and 22kW three phase AC charging.
ES 350e Sports Luxury costs $77,000 before statutory charges and on road costs.
The 2026 Lexus ES 350e Australian Version marks a significant change for the long-running luxury sedan. The eighth-generation ES is the first to offer battery-electric power, with the front-wheel-drive ES 350e joining the more powerful ES 500e AWD at launch.
Both electric versions arrive in flagship Sports Luxury specification. A petrol-electric ES 300h will follow later in the year, giving the Australian range a mix of BEV and hybrid powertrains.
New Shape Brings Larger Proportions
Lexus describes the exterior theme as "Clean Tech x Elegance." More important visually, the new ES is larger in every dimension and moves away from some of the complexity of the previous sedan.
Its profile is long and flowing, with a stretched roofline and contoured body surfaces. Lexus says designers used a "golden ratio" relationship between wheelbase, overall length, width and height. The result is also intended to provide SUV-like interior space.
Up front, the familiar spindle identity has been reworked. The spindle-shaped treatment now extends from the bumper into the bonnet rather than relying on the traditional grille shape.
The ES 350e Sports Luxury rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and receives LED headlights with a high-definition Adaptive High-beam System.
Hidden Switches Clean Up The Dashboard
The cabin takes a similarly restrained approach. A 12.3-inch multi-information display sits in front of the driver, while a 14.0-inch full-HD touchscreen handles the latest multimedia system.
Responsive hidden switches are integrated into the dashboard and steering wheel. These controls appear when the driver hovers over or touches them, while still providing tactile feedback.
Lexus has also replaced the traditional steering-wheel "L" emblem with an embossed LEXUS wordmark. Bamboo layering ornamentation combines printed woodgrain patterns with surface-emitting illumination.
Sports Luxury equipment includes semi-aniline leather-accented seats, easy-close doors, radiant heating for the driver and front passenger, two wireless phone chargers and rear door sunshades.
165kW Motor Drives The Front Wheels
Unlike the dual-motor ES 500e, the ES 350e uses a single front electric motor producing 165kW. Lexus does not provide torque, acceleration or top-speed figures in the Australian release.
Both BEV versions use a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery. It supports 22kW three-phase AC charging and up to 150kW CCS2 DC charging. Lexus quotes a 10 to 80 percent DC charge in as little as 28 minutes.
Australian driving range is not stated in the supplied material.
Sports Luxury Starts At $77,000
Adaptive Variable Suspension with pitch and bounce control is standard on the ES 350e Sports Luxury, while fourth-generation Lexus Safety System+ brings new and revised assistance functions.
Australian pricing is $77,000, excluding statutory charges and other on-road costs. That places the ES 350e $7,000 below the 252kW ES 500e AWD while retaining the Sports Luxury equipment level.
For the Australian ES range, the 350e therefore serves as the entry point to battery-electric power, trading the 500e's dual-motor AWD layout for a simpler front-drive configuration.
