2026 Ford Bronco Coastal Package

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Body-color fender flares and molded-in-color hardtop clean up the Bronco's profile

  • Exclusively available on Outer Banks four-door trims

  • Aimed squarely at buyers more beach deck than backwoods trail

A Softer Take on the Bronco Formula

The 2026 Ford Bronco Coastal Package isn’t built to conquer boulders. It’s not meant to. What it does offer is a more refined take on Ford’s most recognizable SUV—sanded down, cleaned up, and aimed at buyers who prefer pavement and parking lots over rock gardens.

Exterior Tweaks That Keep It Simple

From the first glance, it’s clear this version trades in the chunkier off-road silhouette for something smoother. The black plastic fender flares are gone, replaced by body-colored units that blend into the sheet metal. Side steps come standard. The gloss-black wheels—18 inches—anchor the look without overpowering it. On the four-door Outer Banks base, it feels coherent.

The molded-in-color hardtop looks better than expected in photos. It has a factory-fit presence and comes with a rear wiper and defroster. It’s more about all-weather usability than trail-readiness. There’s also a subtle Coastal badge on the fenders and tailgate—no wild graphics, no oversized lettering.

Familiar Interior with a Few Small Touches

Inside, it’s business as usual for an Outer Banks spec. Same SYNC 4 interface, same layout. The Coastal logo appears on the console badge, and Ford says there’s marine-inspired stitching, though it’s hard to see it clearly in the official shots. The seating materials and colors seem familiar. Nothing jarring. Nothing excessive.

Powertrain Carries Over Without Changes

Under the hood, it’s the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic is standard, and there’s no manual here. Drive modes like Sand and Slippery are still present, but don’t expect locking diffs or upgraded dampers. This isn’t the Bronco for that. For anyone wondering—yes, Sasquatch is off the table with the Coastal Package.

Aimed at a More Relaxed Buyer

It’s a good call, frankly. The Coastal isn’t pretending to be something it’s not. In a lineup that already includes the Wildtrak, Badlands, and Everglades, this one finds its lane. Something for the laid-back buyers. The ones more likely to pull up to a beach trailhead than crawl through Moab.

Where It Fits in the Market

Competition? Think of it as Ford’s answer to trim-specific Jeep variants like the Wrangler High Altitude or Sahara. It's built for image and easy utility. And in that space, it works.

No official word yet on pricing, but it should sit just above a standard Outer Banks model. Limited to four-door Broncos and likely U.S.-only at launch. No word on wider availability.

For Ford, the 2026 Ford Bronco Coastal Package fills a gap between visual customization and daily drivability. Less aggressive. Still Bronco. Just with its shoes off.
