Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE Overview
Volkswagen has introduced the 2025 Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE at the ID. Meeting in Locarno, Switzerland. Developed in collaboration with the Munich-based luxury sports fashion brand BOGNER, this model draws inspiration from the iconic Golf Fire and Ice of the 1990s. Featuring an exclusive 3-layer paint finish and distinctive interior details, the design blends elements of its predecessor with modern, all-electric technology.
Volkswagen introduced the 2025 ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE at the ID. Meeting in Locarno, Switzerland, designed in collaboration with luxury sports fashion brand BOGNER.
The design takes inspiration from the 1990s Golf Fire and Ice model, incorporating modern all-electric technology.
The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE features a unique 3-layer Electric Violet pearl effect paint with glass beads, changing color depending on light conditions.
Exterior highlights include a red anodised Flaming Red roof frame strip and FIRE+ICE geometric pattern foiling on the sides.
The car is equipped with 21-inch rims that enhance its dynamic appearance with a glossy blue anodised finish.
Inside, the vehicle contrasts 'FIRE' with red accents on the driver's side and 'ICE' with blue tones on the passenger side.
Custom stainless steel pedals feature the FIRE+ICE branding, while seats are designed to reflect BOGNER’s iconic down jackets.
Powered by a 240 kW (326 PS) electric motor, the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE reaches 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 200 km/h.
The 79 kWh battery supports fast charging of up to 185 kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in about 26 minutes with a WLTP range of up to 601 km.
The model pays homage to the 1990 Golf Mk2 Fire and Ice, which was a surprise success, selling 16,700 units instead of the planned 10,000.
Design Collaboration with BOGNER
The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE was developed in close partnership with BOGNER, similar to the 1990 Golf Mk2 Fire and Ice. Tom Becker, Director of BOGNER FIRE+ICE, highlighted the integration of the brand's signature materials and design elements into the vehicle’s interior, creating a contemporary take on the 90s design.
