By Team Dailyrevs May 17, 2025
The 2025 Leapmotor C10 REEV delivers up to 950 km of WLTP-rated driving range with its range-extender setup.
-
Combines a 158 kW electric motor with a 1.5L engine used strictly as a generator.
-
Priced competitively from $45,900 AUD — undercutting several mainstream electric SUV rivals.
Looks Familiar — But Efficient
The 2025 Leapmotor C10 REEV doesn’t scream for attention, and that’s kind of the point. It’s a clean, well-proportioned SUV — 4,739 mm long, with a 2,825 mm wheelbase — that fits neatly into the mid-size segment without looking overstyled or trying too hard.
The front end’s minimal, with slim LED lighting and an almost grille-less profile that makes it clear this is an electric-first design. There’s a quiet confidence to the stance — nothing shouty, but it works.
Electric First, Gas as Backup
Here’s where it gets interesting. The C10 REEV is powered by a 158 kW electric motor (that’s about 215 hp), driving the rear wheels. It delivers 320 Nm of torque, which is more than enough for a family SUV.
But instead of relying on a huge battery, it uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine — not to drive the wheels, but to act as a generator. That gives it a pure-electric range of around 145 km WLTP, and a combined range of 950+ km when you factor in the gas tank. So yes, this one’s aimed squarely at folks who still get twitchy about EV range.
Interior: Tech-Forward and Family-Ready
Inside, the C10 REEV looks and feels solid. There’s a 14.6-inch center touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, and all the expected features: wireless phone charging, NFC key access, and a full-length glass roof.
The materials are OEKO-TEX® certified, which isn’t flashy but signals attention to sustainability. There’s also ambient lighting and a 12-speaker, 840W surround sound system for those who still care about audio quality (as they should).
Not Just Affordable — Practical
The starting price of $45,900 AUD makes the Leapmotor C10 REEV one of the more attainable long-range electrified SUVs on the market. It undercuts rivals like the Tesla Model Y and even newer entries like the Kia EV5.
You don’t get jaw-dropping acceleration or ultra-premium design flourishes, but what you do get is a vehicle that solves one of the biggest pain points in EV adoption — range anxiety — without charging luxury prices for it.
