2027 Renault Filante Esprit Alpine

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Filante Esprit Alpine anchors Renault’s 2027 International Game Plan as a global premium crossover.

  • The Esprit Alpine trim adds visual contrast and interior detailing without altering the core comfort-first brief.

  • A 250 hp full hybrid E-Tech powertrain targets efficiency-focused buyers in the E-segment.

A global flagship with Alpine intent

The 2027 Renault Filante Esprit Alpine sits at the top of Renault’s international lineup, conceived as both a design statement and a technological flagship. Built on the CMA platform and produced in Busan, South Korea, Filante plays a central role in Renault’s expansion strategy outside Europe, with initial sales beginning in South Korea in March 2026, followed by South America and the Gulf States through early 2027

Esprit Alpine does not reposition Filante mechanically. Instead, it reframes the car’s character, adding a sport-influenced layer to a crossover already designed to signal Renault’s return to the premium segment.

Exterior design with a sharper edge

Filante’s proportions are deliberately assertive. At 4,915 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,635 mm tall, it occupies the E-segment with confidence. The silhouette blends saloon-like length with SUV mass, tapering into a coupé-style rear that avoids traditional three-box cues

The Esprit Alpine version distinguishes itself through contrasting black and white exterior elements, reinforcing the car’s visual tension without resorting to overt aggression. A three-dimensional illuminated grille, inspired by the Renault diamond, anchors the front, while ultra-slim LED lighting and a precise 28-degree daytime running light angle subtly reference brand geometry. In profile, large wheels and a flowing roofline give the car presence without excess.

A high-tech cabin with Alpine accents

Inside, Filante Esprit Alpine follows the same architecture as the broader Filante range, defined by a wide horizontal dashboard and a trio of 12.3-inch screens forming the OpenR Panorama display. A 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display projects essential information directly into the driver’s field of vision, reducing distraction while reinforcing the car’s technical focus

Esprit Alpine brings specific trim treatments. Alpine-inspired stitching, illuminated branding, and dedicated upholstery choices introduce a sportier mood, though the emphasis remains on calm rather than confrontation. Materials include recycled and grained coated textiles, selected to balance perceived quality with reduced environmental impact.

Comfort-led packaging

With a 2,820 mm wheelbase, Filante offers generous space across both rows. Rear passengers benefit from notable knee and headroom, while the fixed 1.1 m² panoramic roof floods the cabin with light. Boot capacity reaches 654 litres with the seats in place, expanding to over 2,000 litres when folded, positioning Filante competitively against established premium crossovers

Acoustic refinement is a clear priority. Enhanced sound insulation and acoustic glazing support either an Arkamys audio system or a Bose Premium setup with active noise cancellation, reinforcing Filante’s long-distance credentials.

Hybrid performance and positioning

Power comes from Renault’s upgraded full hybrid E-Tech system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors for a total output of 250 hp and up to 565 Nm of torque. The system operates without external charging, defaults to electric start-up, and enables a high proportion of urban driving in electric mode, depending on conditions

Esprit Alpine does not chase outright performance. Instead, it aligns Filante with buyers seeking premium design, efficiency, and technology in one package. In that sense, it positions itself as a measured alternative to more overtly sporty E-segment crossovers, with emphasis placed firmly on refinement and presence.
