Dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing up to 490 kW (666 PS) with Launch Control.
0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a WLTP range of up to 653 km.
113 kWh battery capable of charging from 10–80 percent in under 16 minutes.
Porsche Expands the Cayenne Electric Range
The 2027 Porsche Cayenne S Electric arrives as a new chapter in the brand’s growing electric SUV portfolio. Positioned between the standard Cayenne Electric and the flagship Cayenne Electric Turbo, the S model adds a sharper performance edge while maintaining the familiar Cayenne formula of everyday usability and high-speed capability.
This new variant strengthens Porsche’s strategy in the high-performance EV segment. It combines strong output, long-range capability, and extensive equipment in a package designed to broaden the Cayenne Electric lineup.
From the outside, the proportions remain unmistakably Cayenne. A long hood, a planted stance, and a body that carries the same athletic tension seen in earlier combustion-powered models.
Exterior Design with Model Specific Details
Although the silhouette remains familiar, the Cayenne S Electric introduces several model-specific visual elements.
The S variant is distinguished from the entry-level Cayenne Electric by its Volcano Grey Metallic front and rear aprons. The body color of the diffuser and trim inserts gives the back a more cohesive look.
The SUV rides on 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels, reinforcing the performance positioning without overwhelming the overall design.
The result is a subtle but deliberate visual distinction. Porsche appears careful not to disrupt the Cayenne’s established identity while still marking the S model as something more focused.
Dual Motor Performance and Launch Control Power
Performance is delivered through a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with one permanent magnet synchronous motor positioned on each axle.
Together they produce 400 kW (544 PS) in standard form. The output increases to 490 kW (666 PS) when Launch Control is engaged, firmly positioning the Cayenne S Electric in high-performance territory.
The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, and it can reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
The rear electric motor's direct oil cooling system is a noteworthy engineering feature. Heat is extracted straight from the current-carrying parts rather than cooling the motor housing, which helps preserve efficiency under prolonged high loads.
The rear axle inverter also uses silicon carbide semiconductors, capable of handling currents of up to 620 amps.
Battery Capacity and Fast Charging Capability
Energy comes from a 113 kWh high-voltage battery, shared with the other Cayenne Electric variants.
Under suitable conditions at a high-power charging station, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes, highlighting Porsche’s focus on reducing charging downtime for long-distance travel.
The combined WLTP range reaches up to 653 kilometers, placing the Cayenne S Electric among the longer-range electric SUVs currently offered in the segment.
Electrical consumption is listed at 21.6–19.5 kWh per 100 km, with zero tailpipe emissions.
Driving Dynamics and Performance Technology
Porsche equips the Cayenne S Electric with several chassis technologies aimed at preserving the brand’s traditional driving character.
The optional Porsche Active Ride suspension is designed to almost completely compensate for body movements, improving stability and ride control. The system works alongside Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, which distributes torque between the rear wheels to sharpen cornering precision.
Buyers can also specify Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, identifiable by their yellow brake calipers.
The Sport Chrono Package, which has a Push-to-Pass feature that provides an extra 90 kW (122 PS) of power for ten seconds, is another example of performance-focused features.
In order to optimize battery performance during circuit driving, a specific Track mode pre-conditions the battery.
Customization of the Interior and Initial Design Choices
Customers can customize the Cayenne S Electric to their preferences by selecting from a variety of interior combinations and thirteen exterior colors.
One notable feature is the Interior Style Package offered by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The headrests in this design package have embroidered Porsche crests, matching stitching, and Delgada Green and Black leather upholstery with artistic accents.
Izabal Green-painted aluminum trim pieces contrast with the interior surfaces, while the steering wheel and instrument displays have similar highlights.
