2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric E4 US Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 17, 2026
The Cayenne Electric range uses a 113 kWh gross battery and electric all wheel drive across three core models, each also offered as a Coupé.
Its 800 volt architecture supports up to 390 kW DC charging, or 400 kW under specific conditions, with 10 to 80 percent taking under 16 minutes.
The SUV offers up to 1,588 litres of luggage capacity plus a 90 litre frunk, with towing capacity reaching 3.5 tonnes depending on market and equipment.
The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric E4 US Version brings battery power into Porsche's largest established SUV line, but the supplied July 2026 material does not specifically use either the “E4” designation or identify a US-market specification.
What Porsche does confirm is a three-model Cayenne Electric family comprising Cayenne Electric, Cayenne S Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric, all with electric all wheel drive and corresponding Coupé versions. The electric range will sit alongside existing combustion and hybrid Cayenne models.
Familiar Cayenne Shape Gets Active Aero
Porsche has concentrated on aerodynamic details without abandoning the Cayenne's recognizable proportions. Air curtains, active cooling flaps, an almost fully enclosed underbody and an adaptive roof spoiler help the SUV achieve a drag coefficient of 0.25. Coupé versions improve that figure to 0.23.
Frameless doors, pronounced wings and an animated lighting signature form part of the new exterior treatment. The press image on page one shows the Coupé from the rear, with a broad full-width lighting element and a roofline that drops more aggressively toward the tail.
Longer Wheelbase Opens Up More Cabin Space
The electric Cayenne measures 4,985 mm long and 1,980 mm wide excluding mirrors. Porsche says its longer wheelbase creates noticeably more rear space than in the combustion-engined Cayenne.
Inside, the new Porsche Digital Interaction concept mixes touch controls with physical switches. A curved Flow Display forms the centerpiece, while the operating system supports streaming, gaming, apps and AI-based voice control.
Practicality remains important. The SUV provides up to 1,588 litres of luggage room and adds a 90 litre front compartment. Towing capacity reaches 3.5 tonnes depending on specification and market.
113 kWh Battery Supports 400 kW Charging
Every Cayenne Electric uses a newly developed 113 kWh gross battery containing 192 cells. It is liquid cooled from both sides, while recuperation can reach 600 kW under braking.
Charging is one of the major technical changes. The 800 volt architecture enables 390 kW at suitable high power chargers and as much as 400 kW under defined conditions. Porsche quotes less than 16 minutes for 10 to 80 percent and up to 338 km of added range in ten minutes.
Wireless inductive charging at up to 11 kW is also supported. Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management is standard across the range, while rear axle steering is optional.
