2027 Nissan Sentra SR US Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 20, 2026
The Sentra SR carries a $24,990 MSRP in the US lineup, sitting between the SV ($23,590) and SL ($27,990), before a $1,245 destination charge.
A new Midnight Edition package is available on SR for $650, adding black badging, black window trim, 18-inch black alloy wheels and a Super Black two-tone roof.
SR grade returns a slightly lower EPA estimate than S, SV and SL — 29 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 32 mpg combined — versus 30/38/33 on the other grades.
SR Sits in the Middle of the Range
For the US market, the 2027 Sentra SR lists at $24,990 before destination and handling, positioning it above the S and SV grades and below the range-topping SL. Nissan describes the Sentra SR as carrying a confident posture and sleek surfacing, language it also applies to the sedan's broader design language rather than something specific to SR alone.
Midnight Edition Is an SR-Only Option
The most notable news for Sentra SR buyers is the arrival of a Midnight Edition package, priced at $650 and available exclusively on SR grade. It adds black exterior badges — including a dedicated Midnight Edition badge — along with black window opening trim, 18-inch black alloy wheels and a Super Black two-tone roof. Nissan frames it as building on the equipment SR already carries rather than replacing any of it, so buyers get the visual package layered on top of the standard SR spec sheet.
Cabin Tech Applies Across Grades
Inside, the Sentra lineup — SR included — carries a 12.3-inch touchscreen with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with capacitive-touch HVAC controls Nissan calls a segment first. Front and rear Zero Gravity seats and what Nissan describes as best-in-class front legroom carry through the range as well. SR buyers specifically get access to the available Qi2 wireless device charger new for 2027, which Nissan says charges more consistently and works with a wider range of phones than the previous setup.
A Retuned CVT, Not a New Engine
Nissan didn't swap engines for 2027, instead focusing on retuning the Xtronic CVT across the lineup, including Sentra SR. The changes are meant to deliver smoother, more linear acceleration with sharper response to throttle input. Fuel economy on SR lands slightly behind the other grades — 29 mpg city, 36 highway and 32 combined, compared to 30/38/33 on S, SV and SL — a gap Nissan doesn't explain in the release but is consistent with SR's sportier equipment.
Safety Equipment Doesn't Skip SR
Sentra SR carries the same safety backbone as the rest of the lineup: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Prevention, High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and standard Intelligent Cruise Control. Nissan also points to a class-exclusive Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system and an available Intelligent Around View Monitor for parking, both contributing to the Sentra's 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating.
