2026 Nissan Sentra SR
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 24, 2025
Updated design with a bolder grille, slimmer headlights, and new taillights.
Redesigned cabin with larger infotainment display and upgraded materials.
Expanded availability of Nissan Safety Shield 360 driver-assist features.
A sharper take on a familiar shape
The 2026 Nissan Sentra arrives with cleaner, more assertive styling. At the front, a wider grille and narrower headlamp units give the car a crisper expression. The bumpers are new, too, working with available wheel designs to bring the whole shape up to date. Around back, the taillights carry a sharper graphic signature, which ties the rear neatly into the refreshed front.
The Sentra hasn’t strayed from its well-balanced proportions, and that’s probably a smart move. It still sits low, with surfaces smoothed to keep the profile sleek rather than busy. The car looks familiar, but it feels more grown-up than the outgoing model.
Inside: improved tech and comfort touches
Open the door and the updates are obvious. The dashboard has been reworked with better materials and a simplified layout. A larger infotainment screen now dominates the center stack, running NissanConnect with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Seats carry over Nissan’s “Zero Gravity” design, which has built a reputation for comfort on long drives. Rear passengers get respectable space for the class, and the trunk remains competitive in size. On higher trims, the cabin can be dressed up with contrast stitching, upgraded upholstery, and subtle ambient lighting, lending a touch of sophistication without losing practicality.
Safety and driver aids
Technology has been broadened, too. Nissan Safety Shield 360 — the brand’s suite of driver-assist features — now covers more of the lineup. That includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Higher trims go further with Intelligent Cruise Control and the 360-degree Around View Monitor, making city driving and highway cruising a little less demanding. These additions help the Sentra keep pace with rivals that have been raising the bar in safety tech.
Performance
Power continues to come from a four-cylinder engine paired to a CVT transmission. Ride and handling have been fine-tuned for more comfort while maintaining easy control in tight spaces. Steering has been adjusted to feel steadier at highway speeds, something buyers in this segment will notice in daily use.
