New official images show the Nissan NX7 with a redesigned front fascia, diamond-shaped lower headlights and a more compact rear than the NX8.
The NX7 is expected to slot in as a mid-size SUV below the NX8, which starts at 159,900 yuan, with pricing anticipated to come in lower.
Powertrain options are expected to mirror the NX8's setup, carrying a 1.5T extended-range engine and a pure-electric variant.
Dongfeng Nissan has put out a fresh set of official images of the NX7, and the redesigned front end is the first thing that stands out. Reported by Autohome, the photos show a car that reads more compact and more aggressive than its NX8 sibling, and early positioning points to a mid-size SUV slotting in below it.
New Face, Familiar Split-Headlight Layout
The NX7 keeps the split headlight structure Nissan has used elsewhere in its lineup, but the execution here is different. The daytime running lights don't run in one continuous strip this time, and the lower headlight units have been reshaped into a diamond form with an L-shaped internal graphic. A self-illuminating logo sits up front, and the hood carries pronounced creases meant to give the nose a sharper, more sculpted look. A lidar sensor is mounted at the front as well, suggesting some level of driver-assistance hardware carries over or expands from the NX8.
Compact Proportions and a Livelier Stance
Autohome's images show a three-dimensional side profile with semi-hidden door handles and a two-tone paint treatment. Five-spoke, petal-shaped wheels fill out the arches, and the new grass green paint option gives the car a noticeably different personality than the more conservative NX8. The rear end is described as visibly tighter and sportier in proportion, a shift that separates the NX7's silhouette from the larger SUV it's based on.
Lighting and Roofline Carry the Rear Design
Around back, a continuous light strip spans the tailgate with an illuminated NISSAN wordmark at its center — a layout increasingly common across the segment. A rear spoiler adds some visual motion to the tail, while a panoramic sunroof stretches across the roof, a feature that also hints at a brighter, more open cabin, though interior photos weren't part of this release.
Powertrain Options Likely to Mirror the NX8
Since the NX7 is built off the NX8, Autohome's report expects it to carry over the same 1.5T extended-range engine along with a pure-electric powertrain option.
