Luxury Gets Another Layer
The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 580e MANUFAKTUR doesn't try to reinvent the flagship limousine. It doesn't need to. Instead, Mercedes-Maybach has focused on the details that owners are likely to notice every single day, whether that's stepping into the cabin, sitting in the rear seat, or simply walking up to the car at night.
From the outside, the familiar shape remains. That long wheelbase and restrained profile are still there, but the front end carries a little more presence than before. The grille has grown larger, its illuminated surround is more pronounced, and subtle rose-gold accents inside the headlights give the face a warmer, more elegant look. None of it feels flashy. It simply looks more polished.
Mercedes-Maybach has also expanded the MANUFAKTUR catalog with fresh paint finishes, additional forged wheel designs, and new Night Series combinations, giving buyers even more room to personalize their cars.
The Cabin Remains the Real Highlight
Open the doors and it's immediately obvious where most of the work has gone.
The interior feels familiar, but almost every major touchpoint has been updated. New open-pore wood trim, revised ambient lighting, redesigned digital displays, and a cleaner center console all contribute to an environment that's quieter and more inviting than before.
Mercedes-Maybach is also introducing a leather-free interior option for the first time. Instead of traditional hides, buyers can choose ARTICO upholstery paired with Mirville textile, offering a different interpretation of luxury without losing the handcrafted finish expected from the brand.
Rear-seat passengers continue to be the priority. Executive seats, automatic comfort doors, a refrigerated compartment, and the signature silver-plated champagne flutes are all still part of the experience.
A Hybrid That Feels More Effortless
The updated S 580e benefits from revisions beneath the sheet metal as well.
Its plug-in hybrid system pairs a revised six-cylinder engine with a stronger electric motor, increasing overall system output while making electric acceleration feel more responsive. Mercedes-Maybach estimates an electric driving range of around 100 kilometers, making shorter journeys possible without starting the engine.
Extra sound insulation and updated chassis tuning continue to place comfort above everything else. The goal isn't dramatic acceleration. It's smooth, quiet progress, whether the car is crossing a city or covering long motorway distances.
Technology That Doesn't Demand Attention
One of the biggest upgrades isn't immediately visible.
The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 580e MANUFAKTUR becomes the first Maybach to use MB.OS, bringing the latest generation of MBUX with Maybach-specific graphics, customizable displays, AI-assisted voice interaction, and regular over-the-air updates. Rear passengers also receive dedicated screens with expanded controls for entertainment and comfort functions.
Rather than filling the cabin with technology for its own sake, Mercedes-Maybach has taken a quieter approach. Everything is designed to stay in the background until it's needed.
For buyers considering alternatives such as the Bentley Flying Spur or Rolls-Royce Ghost, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 580e MANUFAKTUR builds on what has already made the S-Class one of the benchmark luxury sedans. It isn't about dramatic change. It's about making an already refined limousine feel even more complete.
