2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 53 AMG Coupe MANUFAKTUR C254
By Lorenzo Bianchi June 8, 2026
AMG's turbocharged mild-hybrid inline-six delivers 443 horsepower.
New Golden Accents Package is available only on the 2027 model.
Standard rear axle steering and adaptive suspension remain key features.
A Coupe SUV That Knows Its Audience
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 Coupe has never tried to be the practical choice.
That role belongs to the standard GLC SUV. The coupe version exists for buyers who want the same performance hardware wrapped in a lower, sleeker body. For 2027, Mercedes-AMG leaves the fundamentals alone and instead focuses on adding more opportunities for personalization.
The result isn't a dramatically different vehicle. It doesn't need to be. The current GLC 53 Coupe is still relatively fresh, and Mercedes appears more interested in refining the package than reinventing it.
Sharper Details Without Changing the Shape
At a glance, the 2027 model looks much like before.
The sloping roofline remains the defining feature. It gives the GLC 53 Coupe a noticeably different character from its SUV sibling, even though both share the same underlying architecture. The AMG grille, wide front air intakes, and pronounced rear shoulders continue to provide the visual drama expected from an AMG model.
What is new are several model-year-exclusive appearance packages.
The most distinctive is the Golden Accents Package. Available only for 2027, it combines black or Graphite Grey Magno paint with gold-accented forged wheels, carbon-fiber trim pieces, AMG graphics, and matching interior details.
For buyers who prefer something less extroverted, the Design Package introduces matte-black wheels and darker exterior elements while keeping the overall look understated.
A Cabin Packed With Everyday Technology
Inside, Mercedes sticks with a layout that has already become familiar across much of its lineup.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument display sits ahead of the driver, while an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen handles infotainment duties. The latest MBUX system supports voice commands, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and AMG-specific performance displays.
The standard equipment list is long. Heated memory seats, a panoramic roof, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera system, and a digital vehicle key are all included. Higher trims add features such as DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, a Burmester 3D audio system, augmented navigation displays, and a head-up display.
Electrified Six Cylinder Power Remains
Under the hood sits AMG's familiar 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six.
An electric auxiliary compressor works alongside the turbocharger, while a mild-hybrid integrated starter generator contributes additional assistance when needed. Combined output remains 443 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, with temporary overboost raising torque to 472 lb-ft.
Power reaches all four wheels through AMG's nine-speed SPEEDSHIFT transmission and fully variable Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. Rear axle steering comes standard, helping the coupe feel more agile than its dimensions might suggest.
Mercedes estimates a 0-60 mph time of around four seconds when RACE START is engaged. Top speed reaches 155 mph, increasing to 167 mph with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package.
The formula hasn't changed much for 2027. What Mercedes-AMG has done is give the GLC 53 Coupe a little more individuality while keeping the performance and day-to-day usability that made it appealing in the first place.
