  • New AWD Disconnect technology helps increase the Folgore's claimed range to 540 km.

  • Revised front-end styling, new Trident wheels, and updated lighting refresh the design.

  • The three-motor electric powertrain continues to deliver 760 CV through an 800-volt architecture.

2027 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Extends Range With New Updates

Maserati has given its electric grand tourer a meaningful round of updates for 2027, focusing less on outright power and more on efficiency, usability, and refinement. The result is a revised GranTurismo Folgore that remains one of the most distinctive electric performance cars on sale while offering a longer driving range and a more polished ownership experience.

At first glance, the changes are subtle. The familiar proportions remain untouched, with the long bonnet, low roofline, and muscular rear haunches continuing to define the car's appearance. Look closer, though, and there are several details that separate the updated model from its predecessor.

Sharper Design With Functional Changes

The front end has been redesigned with a stronger sharknose appearance and revised air intakes. Maserati's engineers also reworked the airflow management around the front wheels, introducing a new air curtain design developed to reduce aerodynamic resistance.

Around the back, the GranTurismo Folgore receives taillights with new clear lenses and a redesigned rear diffuser. Neither change dramatically alters the car's character, but together they give the electric coupe a cleaner and more technical look.

New gloss-black Trident wheels join the range as well. Beyond appearance, they widen the track by 10 mm, a change intended to improve high-speed stability and sharpen cornering responses.

Cabin Improvements Focus On Everyday Driving

Inside, the updates are concentrated around the areas drivers interact with most often. A new steering wheel adopts flat upper and lower sections inspired by Maserati's racing programs, while revised materials and finishes create a more contemporary feel.

The digital clock, now a familiar Maserati design feature, has also been redesigned. It adopts an octagonal shape, gains a metal outer ring, and features updated graphics that can display drive-mode changes directly to the driver.

Technology remains a major part of the GranTurismo experience. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch comfort display, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. A new fatigue monitoring system has also been added, using a dedicated camera to detect signs of distraction or drowsiness.

More Range Without Sacrificing Performance

The headline mechanical change is the introduction of Maserati's new AWD Disconnect system. When full all-wheel-drive traction isn't required, the system can physically disengage the front axle and transfer propulsion duties to the rear wheels. The transition happens automatically and without driver intervention.

That upgrade works alongside aerodynamic revisions, updated thermal management strategies, improved energy recovery systems, and low rolling resistance tyres. Together, those changes raise the Folgore's claimed driving range to as much as 540 km.

Performance remains a defining part of the package. The three-motor electric powertrain continues to produce 760 CV through an 800-volt electrical architecture, while torque vectoring technology independently manages power delivery across the rear axle.

A Different Approach To Electric Performance

The 2027 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore is not trying to be a stripped-out electric supercar. Instead, it continues to occupy a rarer space in the market, combining genuine long-distance comfort, four usable seats, and high-performance electric driving in a single package.

With its latest updates focused on efficiency and day-to-day usability, Maserati appears to be refining rather than reinventing the formula. For buyers looking for an electric grand tourer rather than a traditional performance EV, that may be exactly the point.
