2027 Lexus NX 350h HEV

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2027 Lexus NX 350h HEV produces a preliminary 244 hp from its revised 2.5-litre hybrid system, an increase of 4 hp over the previous model.

  • Manufacturer-estimated combined fuel economy reaches 40 mpg with front-wheel drive and 38 mpg with all-wheel drive, while E-Four AWD receives revised motor controls.

  • Exterior updates include a redesigned mesh grille and Double L rear lighting, alongside a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and standard 14-inch touchscreen.

2027 Lexus NX 350h HEV Receives Updated Hybrid Technology

Lexus has revealed the 2027 Lexus NX 350h HEV, introducing revised hybrid technology, updated exterior styling and changes to the chassis and interior.

The compact luxury crossover forms part of an entirely electrified NX range for 2027, alongside the more powerful NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid.

For the NX 350h, the update focuses on improving efficiency and acceleration response rather than significantly increasing engine output.

The new model is expected to reach global markets by the end of 2026.

Redesigned Mesh Grille and Double L Lighting

The updated NX retains its established crossover silhouette while adopting a revised front-end design.

A redesigned mesh grille incorporates functional elements more closely into the fascia, helping manage cooling airflow.

The headlights feature a dual-line lighting signature integrating daytime running lights and turn indicators.

Chrome finishes on the exterior mirrors and moldings have largely been replaced by black accents.

At the rear, Lexus introduces its Double L Signature lighting arrangement, accompanied by an illuminated Lexus emblem.

New exterior colours include Shaded Ivy and Iridium, while Incognito is reserved for F SPORT models.

Revised Suspension and Improved Body Rigidity

The NX 350h receives structural modifications intended to improve handling and ride comfort.

Lexus has reinforced the front and rear body sections, introduced a new floor cross member and redesigned the suspension towers.

Premium, Premium+ and Luxury grades without Adaptive Variable Suspension receive new dampers with ultra-low-speed valves.

Steering revisions include a smaller 14.2-inch steering wheel and variable-ratio steering hardware.

The vehicle's suspension and handling were developed at Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama and Germany's Nürburgring.

Redesigned Interior With Larger Displays

The dashboard now incorporates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a standard 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen.

A redesigned steering wheel carries horizontal Lexus lettering, while translucent climate controls sit within a soft-touch dashboard panel.

Ambient lighting extends from the instrument panel into the door trim.

Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and phone charging are standard.

Luxury and F SPORT grades also receive Sensory Concierge, which coordinates lighting, audio, climate and fragrance settings.

244 HP Hybrid With Front and All Wheel Drive

The NX 350h combines a revised 2.5-litre petrol engine with an updated electric drive system.

Preliminary combined output reaches 244 hp, compared with 240 hp previously.

The front electric motor produces 160 hp, while AWD models add a 54 hp rear motor.

Revised E-Four controls allow continuous all-wheel-drive operation, including during straight-line driving.

Manufacturer-estimated combined economy is 40 mpg for FWD models and 38 mpg for AWD versions.

Four Grades and Market Availability

The NX 350h will be offered in Premium, Premium+, F SPORT and Luxury grades.

Premium and Premium+ buyers can select FWD or AWD, while F SPORT and Luxury receive standard AWD.

Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 is standard across the range.

Production takes place in Canada and Japan, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
