The 2027 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Electric brings fully electric propulsion to the Sport line for the first time, but visually it stays close to the familiar SUV. The bigger changes sit underneath. A stiffer structure, lower centre of gravity and dedicated chassis calibration aim to give the EV a different character from the existing plug in hybrid models.
Two 260kW electric motors produce up to 404kW and 850Nm. That is the highest torque figure yet for a Range Rover Sport, according to the manufacturer.
Familiar Shape Gets Subtle EV Details
Rather than substantially changing the Range Rover Sport's muscular body, the electric version is identified by smaller functional details. An aerodynamically optimised grille and dedicated alloy wheel designs reduce drag, with Range Rover claiming these measures can contribute up to 10 extra miles of range at motorway speeds.
A Black Pack and Satin Wrap are optional. Dynamic HSE and Autobiography specifications will be offered, while Autobiography buyers also gain access to the Range Rover Bespoke commissioning service.
Lower Centre Of Gravity Changes The Stance
The electric model's body structure is 61 per cent stiffer than that of the Range Rover Sport PHEV, while its centre of gravity sits 73mm lower.
Underneath is Dynamic Air Suspension, Adaptive Dynamics and Twin Valve Dampers. Electronic Active Roll Control can apply up to 1,400Nm of force across each axle, while All Wheel Steering helps the large SUV through tighter turns.
Range Rover tested the setup in Italy's Carrara marble quarries, including gradients reaching 45 degrees.
Cabin Remains Focused On Range Rover Refinement
The release does not detail a redesigned dashboard, infotainment system or passenger dimensions specifically for the electric model. Those elements should therefore not be inferred from other Range Rover Sport variants.
What is confirmed is greater personalisation for Autobiography customers, including expanded paint choices, material finishes, configuration combinations and unique embroidery.
Dual Motors Deliver 404kW
The electric drivetrain uses a 260kW motor on each axle. Combined output reaches 404kW and 850Nm, with Dynamic Launch Mode taking the SUV from 0–100km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds.
Range Rover says torque builds 50 per cent faster than in the larger Range Rover Electric. Virtual all wheel drive and Intelligent Traction Management manage that output away from sealed roads.
The Sport Electric can also wade through 900mm of water.
118.5kWh Battery And 800V Charging
A 118.5kWh lithium ion battery is integrated into the MLA Flex architecture. Range is rated at up to 600km NEDC, while Range Rover quotes up to 535km from its real world testing.
The 800V electrical architecture supports rapid charging. Under suitable conditions, up to 220km can be added in 10 minutes, while a 10 to 80 per cent charge takes around 22 minutes.
Australian Deliveries Start In March 2027
Australian order books are already open. Dynamic HSE starts at $226,518, while Autobiography is $249,518, both excluding on road costs. First deliveries are expected in March 2027.
The electric model joins petrol, diesel and plug in hybrid Range Rover Sport variants rather than replacing them.
