2027 Land Rover Range Rover Electric

The 2027 Land Rover Range Rover Electric brings battery power to the full size Range Rover without giving the flagship SUV a dramatic visual reset. That seems deliberate. The familiar upright proportions, clean body sides and restrained detailing remain, while most of the significant changes sit underneath.

It is available to order in the UK from £154,070 OTR and continues to be built at Solihull, where Range Rover production dates back to 1970.


Familiar Range Rover Shape Gets Subtle EV Changes

Visually, this is still unmistakably a Range Rover. The press images on pages two and three show the same formal roofline, upright glasshouse and squared rear treatment associated with the current generation.

The EV specific work is intentionally restrained. An aerodynamically optimised grille, revised wheels and a tailored underbody help reduce drag and extend motorway range without substantially changing the SUV's appearance.

Short and long wheelbase versions are offered across SE, HSE and Autobiography specifications, alongside SV variants and a First Edition.


Twin Motors Bring 850Nm of Torque

Two permanent magnet electric motors, each rated at 260kW, give the Range Rover Electric up to 550PS and 850Nm. Performance is appropriately quick for something of this size: 0 to 60mph takes as little as 4.3 seconds, while 50 to 75mph requires 2.7 seconds.

The usable 118.5kWh lithium ion battery uses 344 prismatic cells and an 800 volt electrical architecture. Maximum WLTP range is 372 miles, with a quoted real world figure of up to 333 miles. On a suitable 350kW DC charger, 10 to 80 percent takes around 22 minutes.


Electric Traction Targets Proper Off Road Use

The more interesting engineering appears away from straight line performance. Integrated Traction Management can control motor speed within 50 milliseconds, while Intelligent Driveline Dynamics varies rear torque distribution from 100 percent to zero depending on conditions.

Single Pedal mode can assist with standing starts on gradients up to 33 degrees and rolling climbs of up to 45 degrees. Wading depth remains an impressive 900mm.


Cabin Keeps the Existing Range Rover Formula

The interior image on page three shows a cabin that remains closely aligned with the existing Range Rover layout rather than adopting an EV specific dashboard. A central touchscreen, digital driver display and broad horizontal fascia retain the model's restrained approach.

Remote functions are available through the Range Rover App, including charge monitoring, predicted range, scheduled charging, cabin purification and heated steering wheel activation.

The result is less an electric SUV designed to look different and more a Range Rover whose propulsion system happens to be electric. That positions it directly in the high end electric luxury SUV space while keeping the design, cabin format and terrain capability recognisably Range Rover.
