2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro
By Lorenzo Bianchi November 11, 2025
New X-Pro trim gives the Telluride 9.1 inches of ground clearance and real off-road hardware.
Broader stance, longer wheelbase, and subtler surfaces bring quiet confidence to the design.
Cabin refinement focuses on space, material depth, and calm, tactile luxury.
A Mature Evolution
The 2027 Kia Telluride X-Pro doesn’t rewrite its story — it sharpens it. Few SUVs have transitioned from underdog to segment benchmark as quickly as the Telluride. Now, in its second generation, Kia hasn’t chased drama or gimmicks. It’s a considered redesign that leans into what buyers already loved: proportion, clarity, and substance.
The new model stretches 2.3 inches longer with nearly three added inches in wheelbase, making its silhouette even more grounded. You see it immediately in the photos — the stance is calm, the details deliberate. It’s still the squared-off, broad-shouldered Telluride, just drawn with a steadier hand.
Design with Presence
The X-Pro trim anchors the lineup with real off-road intent. The front carries Kia’s now-familiar Star Map LED signature — two vertical light bars bookending a deep, squared grille. The bodywork feels milled rather than molded, with sharp shoulders and geometric surfacing that avoids unnecessary flair.
Black trim, skid plates, and roof rails give it a rugged tone, while functional recovery hooks and all-terrain tires confirm the look isn’t just decorative. Ground clearance climbs to 9.1 inches, and the new bumpers improve approach and departure angles. It’s not pretending to be a rock crawler, but it would hold its own on a muddy trail without losing composure on asphalt.
Lighting also plays a role in the SUV’s new identity. Subtle illumination under the doors and around the rear tailgate — Kia calls it “Ground Lighting” — adds a touch of theater and practicality for those late campsite setups or curbside loading moments.
Calm Inside, Capable Beneath
Step inside, and it’s clear Kia has traded flash for flow. The cabin’s horizontal architecture and slimmer vents give the dash a wide, composed presence. Materials feel richer but not ostentatious — brushed metal, soft-touch panels, and new color combinations like Deep Navy with Tuscan Umber or Blackberry with Sand Beige.
For the X-Pro, the interior skews darker and tougher, pairing durable materials with a subtler palette that fits its outdoors personality. There’s more space, too, courtesy of the stretched wheelbase, and a redesigned second-row console that improves access and usability for long drives.
The technology follows Kia’s recent design logic — cleanly integrated, not overwhelming. The dual-screen setup runs the latest software but doesn’t dominate the interior, while the brand’s latest Drive Wise safety suite adds an extra layer of calm confidence behind the wheel.
The Flagship That Knows Its Place
As Kia positions its electric EV9 at the top of the future lineup, the Telluride X-Pro holds the fort for drivers who still want a big, capable SUV with a conventional heart. It will make its debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show and arrive in showrooms by early 2026.
There’s nothing loud about this update — and that’s exactly the point. The Telluride X-Pro feels mature, quietly confident, and ready for whatever the next decade of family adventures looks like.
