2027 Hyundai Staria Load Premium Arrives With Hybrid Power
The 2027 Hyundai Staria Load Premium reaches Australia with a meaningful update rather than a complete redesign. Hyundai has focused on refining the commercial van where owners spend the most time—improving efficiency, cabin technology, ride comfort and everyday usability—while introducing hybrid power to the flagship Load Premium for the first time. The refreshed model is available now as part of Hyundai's updated STARIA range.
Sharper styling with familiar proportions
At first glance, the overall silhouette remains unmistakably STARIA. Its smooth one-curve profile continues, but the details have been carefully revised. A redesigned front bumper, sharper grille and integrated horizon lighting create a cleaner face, while updated headlights give the van a wider visual stance.
The rear keeps its tall vertical taillights and practical liftback tailgate, while a shark-fin antenna and roof spoiler add subtle visual definition. The Load Premium also distinguishes itself with 17-inch alloy wheels, setting it apart from the steel wheels fitted to the entry-grade STARIA Load.
Cabin focuses on workday comfort
Inside, Hyundai has introduced its latest Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), bringing a more modern interface and additional connected functions. The Load Premium remains a two-seat commercial vehicle and features a redesigned open centre console that improves cabin practicality.
Compared with the standard STARIA Load Hybrid, the Premium model adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch supervision cluster, navigation, Highway Driving Assist, a power-opening tailgate, blind-spot view monitor and LED exterior lighting. These additions aim to make long working days behind the wheel more comfortable without changing the van's commercial focus.
Hybrid power headlines the update
The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of Hyundai's new 1.6-litre T-GDi Hybrid powertrain. Exclusive to the STARIA Load Premium and STARIA Lounge, it produces a combined 180kW and 304Nm through a six-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
Hyundai also says the hybrid system incorporates e-Motion Drive technologies that improve ride comfort and vehicle stability through features including e-Ride, e-Handling and e-Evasive Handling Assist. Suspension revisions, including new bushings, are also intended to improve refinement over rough roads.
Practical capability remains central
Despite the move to hybrid power, the STARIA Load Premium retains its commercial credentials. Hyundai quotes a 4,935-litre cargo area and a payload of 1,039kg, while the updated cabin gains the latest Bluelink connected services with over-the-air software updates.
Within Hyundai's commercial range, the 2027 Hyundai Staria Load Premium sits above the standard diesel and hybrid STARIA Load models. Buyers looking for greater efficiency, additional technology and a more refined driving experience now have a flagship option without moving away from the practical layout that defines the STARIA Load.
