2027 Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 20, 2026
The 2027 Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome introduces a restrained exterior design with revised bumpers, side sills, brake callipers and rear diffuser details.
Two configurations are available: Basic Trim with black-themed styling and Alcantara interior materials, and Upper Trim with additional carbon fibre mirrors and rear spoiler.
The special edition debuts with Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue paint options, with sales beginning in Korea in late October 2026 and launches planned for Canada and Australia.
Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome Introduces a Restrained Design
Hyundai has revealed the 2027 Hyundai Elantra N Monochrome, a new edition of its performance sedan that trades some of the familiar visual contrast for a more consistent exterior finish.
Introduced on October 19, 2026, the Monochrome follows customer feedback calling for a less conspicuous version of the Elantra N.
The changes concentrate on body detailing, materials and cabin finishes rather than an entirely different design.
Hyundai describes the concept as "Understated Yet Undeniable," reflecting an approach intended to retain the sedan's motorsport connections without relying on strongly contrasting exterior accents.
Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue Exterior Colours
The Elantra N Monochrome is available in two exterior colours: Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue, depending on the market.
Both finishes work with a revised selection of body-coloured components, giving the sedan a more consistent appearance.
The front and rear bumpers receive updated detailing, accompanied by changes to the side sills, brake callipers and rear diffuser.
Rather than introducing new proportions, Hyundai has concentrated on the existing Elantra N's surfaces and performance-oriented body elements.
Exterior dimensions, wheelbase measurements and aerodynamic figures were not included in the announcement.
Forged Wheels and Carbon Fibre Distinguish the Upper Trim
Newly designed forged wheels are among the more noticeable changes to the Monochrome.
Hyundai has also introduced two specifications, allowing customers to choose between different levels of exterior detailing.
The Basic Trim combines a black-themed design with Alcantara interior materials.
Upper Trim adds carbon fibre rear spoiler and mirror components, giving the sedan a more pronounced motorsport connection.
The manufacturer has not disclosed wheel dimensions, tyre specifications or revised suspension settings for either version.
Alcantara Steering Wheel and Black Interior Controls
Inside, the Monochrome receives an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel developed specifically for this edition.
Its integrated buttons are finished in black, continuing the darker treatment used throughout the cabin.
Additional Alcantara appears on selected interior components, although Hyundai has not specified every surface receiving the material.
The modifications focus on texture and finish rather than introducing a completely redesigned cockpit.
No changes to infotainment displays, seating arrangements or interior dimensions were detailed in the release.
Elantra N Monochrome Performance Specifications Remain Unconfirmed
The Monochrome remains part of Hyundai's N performance sedan range, but the announcement concentrates almost entirely on its visual specification.
Hyundai has not provided separate engine output, transmission, acceleration or top-speed figures for the special edition.
Mechanical differences from the regular Elantra N, if any, therefore remain unconfirmed.
Korea Launch Begins in October 2026
Sales of the Elantra N Monochrome are scheduled to begin in Korea in late October 2026.
Canada and Australia are also included in the planned international rollout, with additional markets under consideration.
Hyundai has not announced pricing or production quantities in its global release.
