Design Details Rooted in Racing
The exterior adopts track-oriented elements directly from Hyundai’s TCR touring car program. A carbon fiber swan‑neck spoiler provides adjustable downforce and distinctive visual presence. Wheel design includes 19‑inch N TCR forged alloys engineered for stiffness and reduced unsprung mass . Visual cues such as a dedicated “TCR Edition” trunk emblem and N‑Performance decals reinforce the model’s exclusive status.
Interior appointments align with the N division’s sporty aesthetic. Alcantara trim covers the steering wheel, gear knob, parking-brake lever, and center console. A Performance Blue twelve‑o’clock marker sits on the steering wheel, while matching seat belts and metal door scuffs highlight exclusivity. N Performance mats add finishing touches.
Engine and Transmission Performance
Under the hood, the Elantra N TCR Edition retains the 2.0 L turbocharged GDi engine common to Elantra N models. It delivers 276 hp and 289 lb‑ft of torque. Selecting the DCT enables N Grin Shift, temporarily boosting output to 286 hp for up to 20 seconds.
Transmission options include a 6‑speed manual with downshift rev‑matching and Hyundai’s 8‑speed wet‑type dual‑clutch (N‑DCT) paired with paddle shifters. An electronic limited‑slip differential and track‑tuned suspension complement driveline efficiency and cornering contro.
Braking, Suspension and Drive Modes
Upgraded brakes feature four‑piston monoblock front calipers and two‑piece rotors, sourced from Hyundai N Performance kit standards. The revised braking package is fully integrated with the newly fitted forged wheels.
Suspension tuning supports both firm control and road compliance. Drive mode selection includes standard N and customizable profiles. N Track Sense Shift, N Power Shift, and N Grin Shift are available with the DCT variant, delivering enhanced responsiveness during aggressive driving.
Market Positioning and Availability
Officially unveiled in November 2024 by Hyundai Motor Company, the Elantra N TCR Edition was initially introduced in South Korea, with global expansion planned for 2025–26. In Canada, availability is limited and by special order; deliveries expected late in 2025 or early 2026 for both manual and DCT variants at base prices of approximately CAD 47,599 and CAD 49,199 respectively, inclusive of fees (pre‑tax).
As of mid‑2025, there is no confirmed availability in the U.S. market. Hyundai’s U.S. site lists the 2026 Elantra N as a carry‑over with no special edition mentioned.
