2027 Genesis GV90 Neolun First Edition
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 20, 2026
The GV90 Neolun introduces the Neolun Arch Gate, a hidden B-pillar coach door system Genesis calls the world's first independently opening and closing design of its kind.
A 123.5-kWh battery pairs with dual motors for a combined 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated 310-mile range on the 7-seat version.
The GV90 Neolun First Edition tops the lineup with a four-seat Executive Suite layout, two-tone paint, wool cashmere trim and exclusive logo engraving.
A Different Kind of Flagship Arrival
Genesis picked San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts to reveal its first full-size flagship SUV, and the GV90 arrives with more theater than the brand has attempted before. It comes in two forms — a standard GV90 with conventional swing doors, and the GV90 Neolun, which trades the B-pillar for a coach-door setup Genesis calls the Neolun Arch Gate. The rear doors slide out slightly before rotating open, letting front and rear doors swing toward each other for what Genesis describes as an unusually open entryway.
Proportions Built Around a Long Wheelbase
At 208.1 inches long on a 127.8-inch wheelbase, the GV90 sits squarely in flagship SUV territory. Genesis says the exterior draws from the shape of a Korean moon jar, favoring smooth surfacing over sharp creases. Micro Lens Array headlamps stretch across the nose, the rear skips a spoiler altogether, and 24-inch forged wheels fill out the wheel arches. Genesis also removed the conventional B-pillar structure on the Neolun without abandoning crash protection — the company says dual steel beams and a reinforced roll cage, 1.5 times thicker than a typical structure, take over that job.
Cabin Technology and Executive-Suite Comfort
Inside, a 23.6-inch center display can rise 90mm into a 24.6-inch screen when parked, and a 25-inch head-up display replaces the usual instrument cluster. Pleos Connect, Genesis' new infotainment platform, runs on Android Automotive and includes a generative AI assistant called Gleo AI. The GV90 Neolun's front seats can rotate 180 degrees while parked for a face-to-face layout, and the range-topping four-seat Executive Suite adds a real wood veneer second-row floor, radiant floor heating and a partition separating the cabin from the cargo area.
Powertrain and Range
The GV90 runs on Genesis' eMP platform with a 123.5-kWh battery — the largest in the Hyundai Motor Group lineup — split across dual motors for a combined 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Genesis estimates 310 miles of range on the seven-seat configuration, with 10-80% charging in 22 minutes on a 350-kW charger. Dual E-LSD, multi-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering round out the driving hardware.
First Edition Sits at the Top
The GV90 Neolun First Edition caps the range with two-tone paint, body-color 24-inch wheels, wool cashmere upholstery and First Edition badging engraved into the Crystal Sphere Controller and headrests. It's offered in three color combinations and built on the four-seat Executive Suite layout. Genesis hasn't published pricing or an on-sale date.
The GV90 lands in a segment already occupied by the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Mercedes EQS SUV and Range Rover, giving Genesis a direct swing at established six-figure electric SUVs.
