2027 Ford F-150 Lariat

The 2027 Ford F 150 Lariat arrives as part of a wider F 150 update, with Ford concentrating on the areas owners interact with regularly rather than changing the truck's basic formula. For Lariat, that means a fresh exterior treatment, new wheel designs, expanded towing technology and access to the revised powertrain lineup.

Redesigned Grille Refreshes the Lariat

Ford has given the Lariat a newly designed grille for 2027, alongside the XLT, King Ranch and Platinum. New wheel designs are also part of the update. Ford says customer feedback pushed designers toward a more modern interpretation of the familiar F 150 face.

Its fundamental pickup proportions also appear unchanged. Ford does not list revised exterior dimensions, bed measurements or wheelbase figures in this release.

BlueCruise Now Works While Towing

One of the more practical changes is BlueCruise with Towing. Ford says more than 75 percent of F 150 customers tow, so the system has been developed to allow hands free, eyes on driving while a boat, trailer or camper is attached.

The technology works across more than 130,000 miles of pre-qualified divided highways known as Blue Zones. Lariat is among the trims able to access the feature when equipped with BlueCruise, and customers with an active subscription do not pay an additional fee specifically for towing functionality.

Ford says development included thousands of miles of US road testing plus simulator work covering different trailers and driving conditions.

New 3.0 Liter EcoBoost Becomes Standard

The 2027 powertrain range introduces a new 3.0 liter EcoBoost V6 as the standard F 150 engine, replacing the previous 2.7 liter EcoBoost. The two engines share the same core architecture and peak capability, but Ford says the larger unit reaches its pulling power sooner and provides roughly 10 to 11 percent more torque in the part of the rev range used during everyday driving.

The broader F 150 lineup also includes the 5.0 liter V8, rated at 400 hp and 410 lb ft, a 3.5 liter EcoBoost producing 500 lb ft and offering up to 13,500 pounds of towing, and a 3.5 liter PowerBoost Hybrid with 570 lb ft.

Lariat Keeps Its Place in the Core Range

Ford is widening the F 150 range at both ends with less expensive Tremor and Raptor configurations, while the new Carhartt Edition adds another appearance-focused option. Lariat remains positioned between those specialist trucks and the more luxury-oriented King Ranch and Platinum models. 

For 2027, its changes are therefore evolutionary: a different face, new wheels, improved towing assistance and a revised standard engine rather than a fundamental rethink of Ford's core pickup.
