2027 Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Revised active suspension reduces body roll by 10 percent.

  • Faster, sharper gearshifts enhance mid to high speed response.

  • Naturally aspirated V12 retains 725 cv output.

Subtle visual tweaks keep the focus on dynamics

The 2027 Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale doesn’t change the core shape. It wasn’t meant to.

From the outside, it remains instantly recognisable as Ferrari’s four-door, four-seat model. The proportions stay intact, long bonnet, compact cabin, and a stance that sits somewhere between a grand tourer and a high-riding performance car.

What changes are the details. New wheels with a diamond-cut finish stand out first. Around them, the darker elements begin to add up. Matte black exhaust tips, a black rear Prancing Horse emblem, and a satin-finished Ferrari script replace the usual brighter finishes.

Carbon-fibre side shields appear as well, adding a sharper edge without altering the overall design. It’s not about drawing attention. More about giving the car a slightly more focused tone.

Proportions unchanged but stance feels tighter

This version of the Ferrari Purosangue doesn’t stretch or shrink.

The dimensions remain the same, with a wheelbase just over three metres and a balanced weight distribution close to 50:50. The layout still follows Ferrari’s transaxle philosophy, with the V12 mounted up front and the gearbox at the rear.

What does change is how the car moves.

The revised active suspension reduces body movement by around 10 percent. That might sound small, but on a car of this size, it shifts the feel noticeably. The Purosangue reacts more quickly to steering inputs, especially through consecutive corners or direction changes.

It feels more compact than before, even though the dimensions haven’t changed.

Interior remains familiar with small exclusive touches

Inside, Ferrari hasn’t tried to rewrite the experience.

The four-seat layout stays exactly as it was, with individual seats and a cabin designed around usability as much as performance. The elevated driving position remains part of the identity.

Changes are limited to detail elements. There’s a dedicated plaque marking the Handling Speciale configuration, along with subtle trim differences that separate it from the standard car.

The broader layout and functionality stay untouched. It still feels like a Ferrari designed to be used regularly, not just occasionally.

V12 character stays central with sharper response

Mechanically, the heart of the car remains unchanged.

The naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 continues to deliver 725 cv, revving all the way to 8,250 rpm. It’s the same unit, but the way it responds has been adjusted.

Gearshift strategies have been revised, particularly in the more aggressive driving modes. Shifts are quicker and more decisive, especially above 5,500 rpm. In manual mode, the system leans further into driver input, making the experience feel more immediate.

The sound has also been tuned. Start-up and acceleration now carry a more pronounced tone inside the cabin, highlighting the V12’s character without becoming intrusive.

Practical usability remains part of the package

Despite the sharper focus, the Purosangue doesn’t lose its everyday usability.

Boot space, cabin access, and overall comfort remain unchanged. The four-door layout continues to make it more accessible than most vehicles carrying a Ferrari badge.

Even the seven-year maintenance programme remains part of the offering, covering regular servicing and reinforcing the car’s usability over time

Positioned as a more focused interpretation

The 2027 Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale isn’t a new model. It’s a recalibration.

It takes an already capable platform and leans further into driver engagement. Sharper suspension, faster shifts, more defined sound. All without losing the balance that defines the original car.

For buyers who felt the standard setup leaned slightly toward comfort, this version moves the needle back toward performance.
