2027 Bugatti Destrier

Destrier is the third one-of-one build in Bugatti's Programme Solitaire, built on the Bolide's carbon fiber monocoque and stripped of wings, vents and aero addenda.
The car stands just one meter tall — lower than any other Bugatti — riding on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, up from the Bolide's 18-inch items.
It retains the Bolide's complete W16, a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter producing 1,600 PS, though Bugatti frames the number almost as an afterthought.
Design Stripped to Its Volumes
Bugatti built Destrier around a question rather than a target: what does the Bolide's chassis look like once every wing, vent and aerodynamic add-on is removed? The answer leans on proportion instead of aggression. The horseshoe grille is wider than on the Bolide but sits within a face Bugatti describes as restrained. The signature C-line — the brand's usual unbroken curve of brightwork along each flank — actually breaks here, pausing ahead of the front wheel well to expose bare bodywork before picking back up toward the grille. It's a small deviation from Bugatti convention, and the kind of detail that only shows up when a design team has the freedom of a single customer rather than a production line.
A Stance Built Around a Crouch
At one meter tall, Destrier sits dramatically lower than any other Bugatti model, and the proportions read accordingly. The cabin crouches between the front wings, and behind the doors the bodywork pulls in at the waist before flaring back out over the rear wheels — a shape Bugatti compares to a design sketch rather than something that usually reaches a finished car. Exact length, width and wheelbase figures weren't included in the source material, so the car's footprint relative to the standard Bolide remains unconfirmed.
An Interior Built for One Owner
Where the Bolide's cabin is stripped-back and motorsport-focused, Destrier goes the other direction entirely. Leather and nubuck in a warm brown called "Ambre Voyageur" pair with a 3D-knitted textile threaded with copper yarn, formed into a circular "halo-line" pattern that runs around the cabin. Hammered brightwork — echoing a finish used in the engine bay — repeats on the door opener, air vents, steering wheel hub and entry plate. It's described as tailored specifically to its one owner, down to the stitching that traces each component's geometry.
The W16 Underneath, Almost in Passing
Destrier carries over the Bolide's complete powertrain: a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 rated at 1,600 PS, the engine at what Bugatti calls the peak of its development. Notably, the press material treats this figure almost as a footnote rather than the headline — consistent with a car pitched on craftsmanship and proportion rather than a lap time.
A Category of One
As a one-of-one Solitaire commission, Destrier isn't cross-shopped against other cars in any conventional sense — its closest points of comparison are Bugatti's own prior Solitaire builds, Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage, and hypercar-adjacent coachbuilt projects from rivals like Pagani and Rolls-Royce's bespoke division.
