The 2027 Brabus 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio takes the current Mercedes AMG G 63 W 465 and removes one of its defining features: the fixed roof. Brabus has turned the four door off roader into an open top model while retaining the familiar upright G Class silhouette.

The car made its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 and becomes the first open top Rocket model in Brabus history. 

G Class Body Gets A Bespoke Folding Roof

This is considerably more involved than simply cutting away the G 63's roof. Brabus developed a two piece fabric top using more than 500 new components, while structural work was carried out to achieve rigidity comparable with the fixed roof vehicle. The conversion also passed Germany's TÜV testing and approval procedures.

The roof opens or closes in 20 seconds and includes a heated glass rear window. A steel C BOW roll bar sits behind the rear doors, while a carbon fiber roof bow helps stabilize the structure. When lowered, the roof folds behind the rear seats beneath a dedicated tonneau cover.

Carbon Widebody Sits Over 24 Inch Wheels

The Rocket Edition treatment brings widened fenders, exposed carbon details, a Brabus front fascia with large intakes and an integrated spoiler. The grille surround is also exposed carbon and illuminated, accompanied by red signature stripes and an illuminated Brabus emblem.

Its forged Platinum Edition wheels reinterpret the familiar Monoblock II three spoke design. They measure 10Jx24 at the front with 295/30 ZR24 tires, while the rear wheels are 12 inches wide and carry 345/25 ZR24 rubber. Carbon aeroblades help manage airflow around the wheels.

Black Leather And Alcantara Fill The Cabin

Inside, black leather and Alcantara are joined by red stitching, piping and numerous Rocket Red components. Brabus Shell quilting extends across the seats, door panels, footwells and even the luggage compartment. Carbon paddle shifters incorporate LED rev indicators. Rear access is helped by modified hinges allowing the rear doors to open 90 degrees.

4.5 Liter V8 Delivers 900 HP

Under the Powerdome sits a heavily reworked twin turbo V8 enlarged from 3,982cc to 4,407cc. Forged pistons, new connecting rods, a billet crankshaft and larger turbochargers running up to 1.4 bar contribute to the increase.

Output reaches 900 hp at 6,200 rpm and 1,250 Nm at 2,900 rpm, although torque is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm in the vehicle. Brabus quotes 3.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and an electronically limited 240 km/h top speed.
