2026 Brabus 900 Rocket Edition

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The Brabus 900 Rocket Edition delivers 900 hp and 1,250 Nm from a reworked 4.5-litre V8.

  • Exposed-carbon widebody styling and 24-inch wheels define its visual identity.

  • Production is limited to 30 vehicles globally, with pricing from €569,900 before tax.

A familiar shape taken to its limit

The 2026 Brabus 900 Rocket Edition starts with one of the most recognisable silhouettes in the automotive world and pushes it well beyond conventional boundaries. Based on the current W465 Mercedes-AMG G 63, this limited-production model represents Brabus’ latest attempt to crown the G-Class with outright performance and presence. Only 30 examples will be built worldwide, split between two launch specifications: Signature Black and Stealth Gray.

Despite its visual excess, the Rocket Edition remains a full four-seat SUV with all-wheel drive. That duality is central to its appeal. It is still a G-Class in form, but its intent is closer to a supercar than an off-roader.

Widebody design with exposed carbon emphasis

The exterior transformation is immediate. Brabus fits an exposed-carbon Rocket Edition widebody, adding substantial width through redesigned front and rear fenders. The finish is left visible rather than painted, giving the surface a technical, almost mechanical texture. Additional exposed-carbon elements include the front fascia, power dome hood, roof wing, rear trim panel, and illuminated grille frame with a glowing Brabus emblem.

At the corners sit newly developed 24-inch Monoblock II wheels in a three-spoke design, fitted with massive performance tyres measuring up to 355/25 ZR 24 at the rear. Carbon Aero Blades integrated into the wheels help manage airflow while reinforcing the visual drama. From any angle, the Rocket Edition reads as deliberate and unapologetic.

Engine development rooted in displacement

Under the hood sits the heart of the project: the Brabus Rocket 900 4.5-litre V8 Biturbo. Starting from the AMG G 63’s 4.0-litre unit, Brabus increases displacement to 4,407 cc through larger cylinder bores, forged pistons, a longer-stroke crankshaft, and reinforced internal components. Two larger turbochargers deliver up to 1.4 bar of boost, supported by upgraded cooling and exhaust systems.

The result is 900 hp and a peak torque figure of 1,250 Nm, although torque is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm during normal driving to protect the drivetrain. Performance figures are stark. The 2,640 kg SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with top speed limited to 240 km/h to suit the tyre specification.

Sound and control shaped by choice

A Brabus stainless-steel exhaust system with side-exit tailpipes ahead of the rear wheels defines the acoustic character. Valve control allows the driver to switch between an aggressive V8 soundtrack and a quieter mode intended for urban use. BoostXtra valves add a pronounced blow-off sound during load changes, reinforcing the sense of mechanical theatre without constant noise.

Interior as a handcrafted showcase

Inside, the Rocket Edition moves away from understatement entirely. The Brabus Masterpiece interior is hand-stitched in black leather, with Shell-pattern quilting across seats, door panels, floors, and luggage compartments. Depending on specification, Dinamica microfiber, exposed carbon trim, aluminium accents, and contrast piping add layers of detail.

Unique features include carbon paddle shifters with integrated LED rev indicators that change colour with engine speed, echoing motorsport practice. Even entry panels and pedal sets are finished in exposed carbon, while illuminated Brabus logos sync with ambient lighting throughout the cabin.

Positioning beyond practicality

With a starting price of €569,900 before VAT, the 2026 Brabus 900 Rocket Edition exists well outside conventional SUV logic. It is not designed to blend in or justify itself rationally.

For buyers who see excess as the point rather than a flaw, the Rocket Edition delivers exactly what its name promises.
