- The BMW iX4 arrives in March 2027 with 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive variants, followed by the 612 hp M60 xDrive.
- The iX4 50 xDrive delivers up to 828 km WLTP range from a 108.7 kWh battery, with 400 kW DC charging.
- A coupé roofline, standard M Sport package, 17.9 inch central display and BMW Panoramic Vision distinguish the new model.
The 2027 BMW iX4 NA7 introduces a coupé-shaped electric SUV to BMW's expanding Neue Klasse family. Following the iX3 and i3, the iX4 becomes the third model developed around the company's latest electric vehicle technology, combining a sloping roofline with sixth-generation BMW eDrive hardware.
BMW confirms a March 2027 market launch, initially offering the iX4 40 xDrive and iX4 50 xDrive. The more powerful M60 xDrive follows shortly afterwards.
Neue Klasse Design Meets SUV Coupé Proportions
The iX4 measures 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,595 mm tall, with a 2,897 mm wheelbase. Short overhangs and a descending roofline create its coupé silhouette, while pronounced wheel arches add definition to the sides.
At the front, BMW's kidney grille and twin headlights form a continuous visual arrangement. Large air intakes and active air flap control contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.23.
The rear receives slim horizontal lights, a pronounced spoiler with an integrated brake light and sculpted body surfaces.
M Sport Equipment Comes Standard
Every iX4 includes the M Sport package, bringing 20 inch M alloy wheels and blue brake callipers. Optional wheels extend to 22 inches.
The M60 xDrive receives its own exterior treatment, including M Yellow Lights, a black kidney grille, M rear spoiler and standard 21 inch wheels.
Panoramic iDrive Shapes The Interior
Inside, BMW uses its Neue Klasse dashboard architecture with a 17.9 inch central touchscreen and Panoramic Vision display projected across the lower windscreen.
BMW Operating System X supports personalised displays, voice commands and connected services. An optional 3D Head-Up Display adds information directly into the driver's line of sight.
A large panoramic glass roof is standard. Despite the descending roofline, BMW says the cabin retains generous headroom and legroom.
Three Electric Variants With Up to 612 HP
The iX4 40 xDrive uses two electric motors producing 374 hp and 520 Nm. It reaches 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
The iX4 50 xDrive increases output to 469 hp and 645 Nm, reducing the acceleration time to 4.9 seconds.
At the top, the M60 xDrive develops 612 hp and 875 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Up to 828 KM Range And 400 kW Charging
The 40 xDrive combines an 82.6 kWh usable battery with up to 638 km WLTP range.
Both higher-output variants use a 108.7 kWh battery. The 50 xDrive achieves up to 828 km, while the M60 xDrive targets 777 km.
Maximum DC charging reaches 400 kW on these versions, allowing the 50 xDrive to add up to 387 km of WLTP range in ten minutes under specified conditions.
Practicality includes 490 litres of luggage space, expanding to 1,600 litres, plus 58 litres beneath the bonnet. Optional towing equipment supports up to 2,000 kg.
