2027 BMW iX4 M60 xDrive NA7

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Dual electric motors produce 450 kW (612 hp) and 875 Nm, enabling 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

  • A 108.7 kWh battery provides up to 777 km of provisional WLTP range, supported by 400 kW DC charging.

  • Standard equipment includes M Yellow Lights, 21-inch wheels, adaptive M suspension and an electronically controlled rear M locking differential.

The 2027 BMW iX4 M60 xDrive brings M Performance hardware to BMW's new electric SUV coupé, sitting above the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive in the Neue Klasse-based iX4 range. It combines a more aggressive exterior treatment with a 612 hp dual-motor drivetrain and chassis equipment reserved for the flagship model.

BMW confirms that the M60 xDrive can be ordered from January 2027, following the introduction of the regular iX4 variants. The wider range is scheduled for a March 2027 market launch.

M Yellow Lights Distinguish The Front

The iX4 M60 xDrive receives a more focused interpretation of BMW's Neue Klasse design. Its front combines the kidney grille and twin headlights into one graphic arrangement, accompanied by black M Shadowline trim.

M Yellow Lights provide the most noticeable distinction. Inspired by BMW's motorsport lighting signatures, they are joined by three-part light elements positioned beside the kidneys.

The standard BMW Iconic Glow package adds illuminated grille contours and adaptive lighting functions.

Coupé Roofline Meets M Specific Aerodynamics

Measuring 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,595 mm tall, the iX4 combines a 2,897 mm wheelbase with short overhangs and a descending roofline.

At the rear, slim horizontal lights sit above an M-specific diffuser. A dedicated M rear spoiler increases downforce at the rear axle.

Standard 21-inch alloy wheels accompany red M Sport brakes, while blue callipers are optional. Wheels measuring up to 22 inches are also available.

M Sport Seats And Panoramic iDrive

Inside, the M60 xDrive features electrically adjustable M Sport seats with illuminated M logos and massage functionality.

A model-specific M Sport steering wheel adds a red centre marker, shift paddles and dedicated Boost Mode and M Mode buttons.

BMW Panoramic Vision projects information across the lower windscreen, complemented by a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running Operating System X.

The M60 also receives a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos support.

Dual Motors Produce 612 HP

The M60 xDrive uses one electric motor on each axle, delivering 450 kW (612 hp) and 875 Nm through an M-specific all-wheel-drive system.

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 240 km/h.

Adaptive M suspension comes standard, combining electronically controlled dampers with variable-ratio sport steering. An electronically controlled rear M locking differential is exclusive to this version.

108.7 kWh Battery And 400 kW Charging

The 108.7 kWh battery supports up to 777 km WLTP range, although BMW identifies the figure as provisional.

Maximum DC charging reaches 400 kW, with up to 360 km of range added in ten minutes under specified conditions.

Practicality remains part of the package. Luggage capacity ranges from 490 to 1,600 litres, supplemented by 58 litres beneath the bonnet. An optional tow hitch permits trailers weighing up to 2,000 kg.

The M60 xDrive therefore occupies the performance end of BMW's electric SUV coupé range, combining M-specific driving hardware with the technology and packaging of the Neue Klasse platform.
